Only Rossi makes decent powder skis

Alright well this is my rant of the day. I was on the Whistler site today and decided to check out their Heli program. Turns out they only recommend Rossignol skis or Burton snowboards for a heli trip. For anyone who is minimally informed this is a joke, but to whoever might not be, this is just plain bad marketing. Anyways, maybe I'm the cinical one here.

Rossi actually develops a special bandit for Can-ski rentals in Whistler, it is just a contract with intrawest.

However, the B-Squads are definitely THE most popular fatty in Whistler, and that is not influenced by much intrawest marketing.

It has just occured to me that Rossi is one of the only companies these days that doesnt have a super fatty coming out. Salomon has their new Rocker ski that supposed to be huge and just about every other company has some nice sized 100+ ski. I think the closes thing rossi has is either the B-squad or Scratch BC.

They really don't need to market that ski at all, anybody who is in the market for a ski like that already knows about it.  That being said, the Squad is a shitty powder ski and you can definitely find sticks that float better than those.  They're made to go straight and fast, and as a result they are too stiff to float.  Still a great ski, even though I'd recommend LP's over them.

no, and since you're sponsored by Solly you'd know better, but that was the impression I had with Can-ski, since they are owned by intrawest, although i do see loads of Solly rental skis too. I do know that rossi made a can-ski edition of their B2's or whatever though.

And Enigman88, I think a stiff ski like the squad (skied it last year, couldn't make very many turns at all) is fine and carveable if you've got the calves to back it up, which a lot of people do...

haha thats pretty funny. k2,g3,movement all make great powder skis. ive ridden a pair of k2 mount bakers and they were amzing on pow

i dont know why you would want pontoons...same with prophet 130's. its kinda just overkill with the wide thing. you never get faceshots or get kneee deep pow your just always on top...a little wide is okay but 130mm waist is a little wide...

The Salo ski is 127 underfoot. They also have another ski coming out that's 107 underfoot... and a hundred and ninety eight fucking centimeters long. Unh.

You don't buy bandits to ride switch.  We could all point out the shortcomings of your skis, but nobody's doing that right now because it is pointless and trivial.  They do what they're designed for very well, and if you're going to criticize them for not being able to do something else then you should really start thinking your comments through a bit more.

All heli companies reccomend that you use their rentals, that don't want to be waiting for clients on their "wide" 76mm waist skis. Whistlers just happen to be rossi.

oh well chances are that most of the people going heli skiing know that rossi is not the only company out there. unless they are trying to corner the market of rich japanese tourists who will go out and buy all new stuff just because it is recommended
