An unconvenient truth

i know there is (are?) already thread(s) about this, but as far as i know they are from before the video was available in stores so i'm starting a new one.


so i watched this movie yesterday afternoon and yep - we really are fucked. It's not like the doc didn't tell me (or probably most of you) what I didn't already know, it's just that hearing it from Gore in an all professional like way (as opposed to an open discussion on the newschoolers forum) makes it feel all more real.

but in relation to our world (that being the one of mountain folk) i'm almost thinking: 'hurry the fuck up greenland'. i mean fuck - the past half decade the weathers been all screwy in north america and this winter, and maybe the world... anyways, if they are correct about the north atlantic current and the shutting down of the jet stream sending europe into a mini ice age... FUCK YEA! well, the ski industry will probably shut down due to the 20ft higher ocean levels and all the wars and the loss of rich countries money, but that doesn't mean you can't keep skiing - just gonna take a bit more effort for your turns.

well - I supose all this has the potential to be averted - but when you realize that our future is in the hands of people like Bush, makes you think why the American people thought he would be a better Prez then Gore... I'm not even going to ask why he got re-elected.

WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE.... well, we all have to die eventually (unless they actually do find a cure for cancer)

fuck you for suggesting americans wanted bush for their president.  I have no godly idea how the fuck this happened and I appoligize for the red states... I still think we should've let them go during the civil war, the country would be FAR better without much below the mason dixon line.

yea...you need to learn how to see biased information when it comes to you. there is so much evidence out there proving global warming is overhyped. gore didnt once mention the solar theory of global warming (the natural way) and he believes that any change in climate is ALL due to emissions. he completely denies the fact that climates do naturally change.

so to end, do some research before you believe that bogus

Think about it. How will you keep the water melted?

We are not ready to deal with everything freezing.

And a Mini ice age? I hope so, but whats stopping a full blown one?


If we look at the Gaia principle, which states that the earth has a way of regulating itself through its living environments, Imagine this: Ok, so the ice caps melt, and then we go into an ice age. Ok, so everything freezes. Then we have glaciers again, then the clean frozen water melts, supplying the world with steady clean water. Life once again flourishes at the biomass thaws out. Its a homeostatis type of system, just that this time, theres going to be severe things going on in order to put the world back into balance.

And the mi9llions of rotting human corpses will only feed the soil. Finally, giving back to the world we take so much from.

in conclusion:

- It gets too hot because of all the CO2

- Weather systems go fucky loopy

- All the ice melts.

- Earth cant regulate its temperatures.

- Things freeze.

- We cool down.

- We have Ice again.

- CO2 levels drop

- The ice slowly melts, and things go back to being good again.

results : A billion displaced people trying to survive.
Hundreds of major cities underwater.
Irrervisible damage to certain ecosystems.

Biodiversity takes a huge hit,

living systems are thrown into chaos.

things find a new balance

something survives.

And I am hoping that things dont just keep getting hotter, that something does start freezing. If nothing freezes, were all really fucked.

OK but Global Warming does not mean Gore. They don't go hand and hand. We have a and problem, Gore is one of many (some Repubs too) who recognizes condemn the issue.

Yes, solar output fluctuates and that can affect our climate. But saying that is the only reason our temps are rises shows lack of research, CO2 is having an immense effect on our environment.
