so i learned backflips in the park today but it was on a jump that maybe out you ten feet out but throws you almost vertical. So i was wondering on normal jumps should i throw it the same and just lay it out to slow down my rotation or just dont throw it as hard. i mean i know once you get to a certain point you have to do both but like for smaller ish jumps - like 20-30 feet
i really want to try doing backflips skiing soon... we dont have any good jumps for it right now... at my mountain thre is only one jump right now and its like at least 40ft and if u dont make the landing ur fucked..u need a ton of speed too..shuold i try to build a jump that is fairly good size and make it have a solid lip that will send me up?..lol idk what to do
I tried it for the first time a couple of weeks back on some natural kicker into some packed powder and I have to say it hurt. Especially the part where my tips caught into the ground and flung me face first into the ground. The second time wasnt so bad though. They said I looked smoother and almost like a real backflip. I was also smart enough to turn my skis sideways so i would land flat on my chest and knock the wind out of me for a good minute. They said my problem was that about 3/4 of the way I would freak out and just stop my rotation. I'm also planning on trying it on a bigger kicker as well. Cause the one i tried on was only like 3-4ft but it did shoot you up a bit. Just need to commit and tuck my body in to rotate faster. Overrotating is way better, just try to whip yourself around.
ya just throw it and ride it out till you see ground coming up and then your tips will appear. but really it doesnt hurt that bad to catch ur tips in the park. i did but i just penguin slid down the landing
