Why doesn't espn hire people who know about skiing?

It seems that the announcers aren't that informed about skiing or snowboarding (even though Sal claims hes been riding for 17 years). I've been watching slopestyle and pipe and they have no idea what's up. They just introduced Simon as Jon while I was writing this, not helping their case. Where does ESPN look for announcers? Texas?

Ok, I'm sure it's pretty hectic there, and there can be a few miscommunications. Who cares about the announcers. Put it on mute.

And Uncle E, Mike Douglas, and Davenport. They're all way knowledgable about skiing. Maybe the people that interview aren't, but that's just because ESPN picks charismatic, attractive people.

well when they showed dumont and the graphic said jon, the announcers actually were the ones to correct it, saying that it was simon dumont not jon, so the announcers really didnt mess that up
