Replying to It's crazy...but it just might work!
Alright, so this is quite possibly another half-cocked idea about binding tech, but while I was thinking about the pros and cons of different bindings, and reading threads about people wanting to use different toe and heel pieces on their skis I had this thought: Why not use an FKS/Look racestock heelpiece (155 in this case) and the toepiece from the P14 (pivoting version)? This would give you a soild metal heel, and a toe with multi-directional release, while still being able to run a DIN of 12 (or 13 on the heel) if you need to. The only reason I thought this up was because I didn't like the fact that the racestocks toe only releases to the side, because I sometimes backseat landings, and I had a friend break his leg right above the boot because he over-rotated a backflip and his binding wouldn't release upwards. What do you guys think?
