Who wants to help me plan my trip?

In hearing about Rage Against the Machine's reunion at Coachella, I almost immediately began planning a journey out there. My parents always told me that at the end of my senior year in high school, I would be able to take a trip somewhere. Well, this is damn good enough! I first wanted to drive, but that would actually be more expensive than getting a round trip flight off of cheapflights.com. My biggest concerns are getting from LA to Indio (cab? bus?) and once I'm in Indio, where to stay would be the next biggest problem (cheapest?). I also considered Greyhounding directly to Indio to get rid of one of the issues, but then there is still the problem of a place to stay. Does anyone have any suggestions?
