thats right coming back from my local hill i hit a deer at 55 with my truck. The deer died almost instanly but it did 700+ damage to my truck wich only cost me 1100 but luckily me and my friend are okay because i made him wear his seat belt
i killed one last year in my cr-v goin like 40... there wasn't much damage though because the deer basically ran into the front corner of my car, so just a dent. i was pretty lucky but kinda felt shitty bout killin a deer.
well pointless, no, they have good meat. But overpopulated, yes, by far, I did road maintence over the summer, which includes dead animals, and we picked up a deer at least once a week.
And i forgot to add, I've almost hit a deer like 10 times, i somehow stop in time/move. I ran over a dead deer in the road once though. I was driving up to employee orientation for moonlight, and i was half asleep at 6 in the morning driving up and i didnt see the dead body in the road cause it was dark and BAM pretty much hit a chunky speed bump at about 75. Somehow nothing happened to my car.
the deer stop when they see your headlights but you can snap em out of it by beeping your horn, just a little tip.
I live in wisconsin where every deer season we kill like 700,000 deer and they're still all over the sides of roads.
I had a real close call the other night. it was snowing and the deer came out from the left side. There was no way in hell I was going to be able to stop, I somehow got fair enough to the right to miss the thing. It was literally maybe 2 feet tops from the driver side of my car.
