What to expect?

Earlier today i was skiing and dicieded to do a screamin seaman and didnt quite the the skis uncrossed and when i landed it tore out my toe piece...I took the skis into my home mountains ski shop to ask for the techs opinion.

The problem:
He said whoever mounted them did a shitty job and should of used a jig. I just got back from the store where i mounted them and they told me they would send them out to volkl and see what happens. What irratates me is that the the shop didnt use a jig which apperently means they arent "certified" to mount look/rossi bindings. I get the feeling I going to get screwed by volkl cuz they will blame whoever mounted them since the skis are in good condition. So thats why i asking you for advice, i know alot of you have worked in shops so if you have any advice/or expections it would be helpful

the tech wasnt in and i know the guy personally who mounted them. No, they just took them and tagged them and told me they would sent them out tomarrow.

well if volkl says it was the shops fault make the shop give you new skis. that kinda sucks though tough position to be in.

yeah it would be the shops fault but if i had to guess volkl would do somthing about it. If they dont then just compain to the shop and try to get a deal out of it

Yeah I would say if Volkl says it was the shops bad, then make the shop replace your skis, cause it sounds like you didn't do alot of riding on them before they tore out, and it shouldn't just tear out like that, unless you tightened the DIN up so that instead of letting go of your boot, the binding let go of the ski.

They wouldn't have taken them in for a mount if they didn't have a jig, they'd have told you to go somewhere else. Were the skis Dogens? We had a few of them come back last year with ripped out heels - I think the materials are just shitty.

yes the skis were dogens...He explained they didnt have the jig and he would freemount them himself(took them almost 2 weeks to mount them which was really shady too).
