Does the fan actually effect how much the goggle fogs up? I had a friend who bought these and said it didnt do shit...

doesn't do anything if you don't fog your goggles. If you're hiking or a just a hot head they work great. They blow the warm air right out the top. I used them for patrol set up, you get sweaty and having the fan is a big help.
