Progression of Extreme sports.

think about it, i bet 15-20 yrs ago, noone ever thought someone would be able to go into a halfpipe with rollerblades or a bike, now look at them. i think that within 3 years, dirtbikes will have a spot in the X-Games for vert. Thatd be crazy

funny to think how things just change, get so different. Think, twenty years ago our parents were listening to Led Zeppelin and thinking, this is the culmination of music, the hardest, most radical thing to ever come. How could they predict what would be next? It's the same with extreme sports.

haha extreme. Dunno if you realize but all alternative athletes (and tony hawk topped it off at the sports and music awards) hate the word 'extreme' and are glad no one calls it that anymore

I always thought 'extreme' was the best word for it. In the sense of big-mountain or big-pipe or big anything skiing or anything else where your life is at risk.

i think the word 'extreme'is a term that was used when it wasnt popular but now it has become more main stream and more normal

It'll be interesting to compare people's view on progression nowadays compared to a whiel back. A lot of sports have progressed since then (skiikng for one) while others (skateboarding seems to be on a decline, but maybe that'sj ust me) haven't chane dmuch
