so for the past few times this year while skiing park my skis come off way to esily. like ive landed jumps clean and il loose my skiis or il land abit sideways in a rut after a rail and il loose them. What is wrong? My dins are at about 7 and im 6' 1" and 165 pounds. Are my dins to low? Are my bindings not set to the right size of my boots. Im thinking about getting my skiis centre mounted so its no big deal to get them fitted properly to my boots then. Any ideas? thanks
What kind of bindings? Some of the sollys have problems with being gay, or it could be that they are set wrong. your DIN isnt exactly tight in my book but it shouldnt cause them to pop off like that.
dude not good
i had my bindings on 10toe 10 heel (max) cus i had to wait till christmas to get new skis and they still came off easy as fuck even leaning back on a wall ride they would pop off so then i was skiing one day and hit a natty lip onto a run landed absouletly fine and my binding some how fucking ejected breaking my ankle so now i have to live with this fucked up ankle cus of shitty bindings go bitch your shop out for being fucking retarded cus thats what i did... didnt do anything but i felt beter
shits fucking dangerous
made sure to get some p12 jibs
wow, have fun with prosthetic knees. i weigh 60lbs more than you and am 4 inches taller and have the same DIN, you do know bindings are supposed to release when you fall. as for the person who made this thread, turn them up to 8 and see if that helps, sometimes bindings are set up wrong as well. also one thing to look at is if you have any wear on your boots, when it wears down it limits contact the boot has with the binding and then it doesn't release properly, so replacing the toe and heel pieces of your boots might be in order.
i would set them at 8 and see if the problem is fixed, if not goto 9 etc. i know when my shop sets bindings we can only set them to the recommended setting for your height/weight/age/ability. most shops dont know how aggressive you are and just set your bindings to release properly under normal conditions. when i got my first pair of twins mounted i had to crank the dins up one notch because they came off everytime i would stick a little on a box or rail. now that ive become a little more aggressive they have gone up another notch. if that doesnt fix the problem then definitly take them to a shop and have them checked.
I love how only one guy called forward pressure on it. Your DIN is probably too low if you're very agressive. Like some guys said, techs can only go so high on the DIN Chart without putting themselves at risk of a lawsuit. But even with a 15 DIN, if the forward pressure is too low, you will boot-out. Make sure your housing is aligned, and that should be ok. The shop guys will do that for sure. Only after that would I bring up the DIN. Keep your knees safe, or it'll be a bitch later on.
if you've got PX12s or 14s that's why. There's absolutly nothing you can do to fix it. You need new bindings. I've been having that exact same problem for the past 2 years. I've got my PX 14s set to 11-12 right now and they're poping off all the time, espessially in pipe. I had a pair of PX 12s last year, same problem, had them set to 10 so they weren't maxed. Something you can do to help while you wait for new bindings is to move them as close together as possible with your boot still getting into them, it helps but they still suck.
Anybody who says PX 12s and 14s are good probably just doesn't ski very hard, no offence, but seriously they suck more than anything
Ok I need a little bit more information to help you out with more specifics.
First off what kind of bindings and boots do you have. That makes the most difference since each company is different, but most companies have one fit fits all for theyre binding, but if you have Salomon bindings then its different. Salomon bindings have many adjustments for the toe piece and heel piece to fit your boots tightly
Second we need your boot size, the bigger your feet the lower your DIN has to be set. If you have big feet you could maybe put it to like 8 or 9 max, but if you have small feet you could go up to 10 or 11.
man, are they really that bad? cuz ill be bumming if they are, i bought some b/c from what i had heard, they seemed like a pretty good, solid binding...this is the first time i have heard something really negative about them
Sounds like you just need to learn how to adjust bindings or check your boots for wear. I've ridden with a few people on PX bindings and they haven't had any problems so far. And before you say they must suck at skiing, they were riding Pro Riders and XXL's, so the bindings were definitely being thrashed.
i have the axial 2 12 from last year and i have had problems
my binding keeps on coming off at retarded reasons, dont tell me my bindings are setup wrong i work in a shop and know they are, and even had our binding guy check them out.
also the wings for my toe piece rotated 90 degrees upwards
