start her side slipping toe side edge, then heel side, once comfortable with that progress to a faling leaf ( toe side side slip letting the nose drop then the tail so it looks like a falling leaf) start out toe side then move to heel side. after getting comfortable with that go into what is called a fall line traverse. start in a side slip drop you nose down the fall line the continue back to your original edge go from sid eto side of the slope on each edge. have her try to get more and more commited futher down the fall line each traverse. then from there go to attemping a skidded turn.
pointers for first timers, concetrate on keeping their weight forward down the fall line. intiate turns with thier front knee.
keep reminding her to bend her knees-most important part of snowboarding, to stay balanced (probably lean more forward than what she thinks is necessary, and stay on edge. Make sure you tell her alot to do these, or else shell start to develop bad habits and have crappy technique
lean forward is most important, most people when they first start, lean back as they enter the fall line. so you must costantly remind them to fight that urge and lean forward.
