So i did a search before posting this, and seems like it ain't been done before. What do you guys think is the worst tiwn tips out there that you have tryed. Im gonna go and say that mine is a tie between the Elan Mo2, and the older Atomic line( Stomp, tweak). The sidecut on the elans were just weird, and they were little brittle sticks. They were pretty heavy for their size, and not worth the money. The tweaks and stomps were just plain crap. The foam core was poop, no pop, weak skis, edges were not stong....the only thing was they were light. But by todays standards they aren't really that light anymore. Soo your opinions?
judging on performance maybe line 1260's, because the tail width is virtually the same as underfoot, its really wierd. as far as most popular worst ski, that goes to the 05-06 invader, so many problems, but performance was great
Those things sucks really bad. The tip and tail were *really* squared off. They were supposed to be a park ski, but were as stiff as race skis. The topsheet was very prone to pressure cracks, And the recommended mounting position was like...6 inches from the tail.
Maybe they were like that cause they were the Line twins for moguls. If you look at moguls skis they are pretty much straight. So they werent the worst twin tips ever.
ill second the volant machete, the ski shop i work at had a bunch left over from a couple years back and we couldnt even sell them for 40 bucks. garbageee
The edges for the elan airtwist were not even dovetailed / had teeth that held them firmly in the base. Once they cracked they just peeled right off. I have this years invades and I have no issues with them. The blue atomics were light and turny and the head madtricks are amazingly durable. I never used the Volant machete but who the hell would want a heavy metal twin tip that is not really twintipped
this is why you're a huge noob. last years invaders had problems, yet you condemn a whole company based on their ski that was supposed to be cheap. and the worst skis ever are Fujis, they lose camber faster than any ski known to man, which sucks as then they lose their pop, the y lose whatever stiffness they ever had, and they snap more than any other ski.(though they don't delam that much and the edges hold up well, but who cares)
Any Volant. Any hard landed permanently would bend the ski for life. Damn metal topsheets. This is how the Spatula was made. McConkey had a hard landing and noticed that he skied away better than he had skied into the hit.
nope, the suck unless your a 120 lbs 15 year old. they were fun for the first 3 or 4 days, then they went to hell, they lost camber, actually one ski went reverse camber. it was terrible. then they snapped on day 15 while landing a misty 5, and yes i did land it. and im not the only one whose had them lose camber and break.
My fujis ( the red ones) are pretty kick ass. i use em as my park ski and they have a flex that is perfect in my opinion. The skis I've had the worst experience with probably has to be the Line all mountain skis. the ones with 1.5 tips. I uno what it was but I skied one run and was like get me off of these things
im gonna go with that one too. the only twin aside frim my karmas ive skied are salomon 720's and they arent bad at all, they just arent hi end, which is ok
why would anyone want volant skis?
To the creator:
I've skiied some other brands other then Elan before, and I know that their twins are heavily criticized and unpopular among skiiers, but out of all the skis I've skied before (PE, tested the scratch fs bcs, foils, fujis) I have to say that the Mo2 is probably my favorite, although it is true that their 3rd raill (underfoot) was a retarded idea (core shot = fucked). The skis base is so bomb proof and just the amount of energy and pop that you get off those things are nuts. They are a bit on the stiff side and slgihtly heavy, but it's definetely not ridiculous, and the stability you get with its stiffness just absolutely kills groomed runs. So ya...personally I'd have to disagree with the Mo2 being a shit ski ,just my own opinion after using them for a season. In terms of graphics....THEY SUCK SHIT lol have to admit that (I have the older all black with green stripes 05/06 or older)
