the only time i talked to them (at club days) they looked at me all snooty because i said i was a skier...i'd rather go skiing with other skiers really, i've never heard much about them doing anything urban so really i'm not sure. i've been thinking someone should start a freeskiing club though..
I'm a member, they don't hate skiiers, but they do offer some pretty good trips for relatively cheap. I went to Sugarbush with the club, everyone was nice... other than the fact that we had to watch 15 hours of snowboarding videos.
They also run a bus to Blue mountain for $35 (ticket+bus or $10 just bus) and have pub nights at Frank's where they give away free shit.
All in all, if someone really wants to make a freestyle club, go ahead, but theres already a pretty good system set up as long as you can handle watching snowboarding movies.
well it was three years ago when they had apparent skier-hate. maybe it was just the wrong person/wrong time.
if anyone ever needs a ride up to blue i head up there pretty much every weekend all winter so let me know.
I retract my earlier statement about Guelph Snow being good for skiers, there must have been an executive change, because they somewhat changed their views towards skiers, hopefully they smarten up next year and broaden their horizons.
Yooooo dude.. the GSC doesnt hate skiers... all my homies are the exec.. i ski... deff sign up... they are goin to jay this weekend so prolly missed that.. but blue trips start soon.. and were gunna try and get some louis trips goin for saterdays... to whoever wants to do urban were (dagz crew) filming all the time we did a gnarly ass rail to drop last nite.. message me if u wanna come out sometime.. paaaace
i know this thread is completely dead but....
im going to guelph in the fall and i was wondering if they still have this apparent 'ski hate'
because i was really looking forward to some weekend trips this year
Im really considering going to guelph, I worried there wouldn't be anything really ski oriented. Stoked to hear about a ski club. But yeah should definately do some urban setups next year! If your reading this and going to guelph next year; post after me saying whats up and we will throw down!
I am considering joining too, but i am also thinking of just settin up the handrails around campus, definately saw some tracks at lambton the other day.
