Should there be a Freestyle skiing event in the olympics?

I was thinking about this today and I was wondering what the community thinks. The Olympics features snowboarding superpipe now. Should there be skiing too? One thing that most athletes dream of having the chance to do is pull in a gold for their country. My only thought against it is that names like tanner hall, simon dumont, and tj schiller would become household gaper talk like shaun white became. Would it contribute to the sport? Or would it take away?

fuckin psycic here, thats exactly what would happen to, kids would bitch and talk about how it sucks now that its televized, and all of the people that are worshipped in ski vids would be immediatly called sellouts. Either that or it would be a really dope competition in the olympics

what is skiing about right now? you think that companies are in it for the spirit of skiing? look at all of the resorts and equip companies. its the people that ski that make it matter, and I hate it when people hate stuff just for getting popular, when the only change popularity brings is that kids bitch about it being popular. look how popular the best resorts are.

how so? that already happens, out west you dont see it to much, but midwest there are tons of people who try skiing just because they want to, and the olympics wouldnt make it any worse. just deal with them. there is no reason to get pissed about something just because it gets popular. Look at NS, its up to like 90,000 members, and has it decreased in quality? I would love to see freestyle skiing in the olympics, I just would hate all of the bitching. And one more thing, olympics dont make sports go sellout, look at slalom skiing, hockey, bobsleding, and of course curling.

ya it would definitely turn into what snowboarding has. now, all the kids who watched the plympics want to snowboard. there are sooo many kids snowboarding its just annoying
