Grete Eliassen got robbed!! She did not deserve to get 5! and the chick that won did 360 the whole time! G should have atleaste gotten 3rd! It was a complete jokeshow! Those judges need to get their eyes fixed. The halfpipe was also a rip off for Jen Hudak and Sarah Burke! They should also have placed. The two other chicks were ok but Jen was great and so was Sarah! Jen should not have gotten 9th and Sarah should not have gotten 5th! But Grete deserved it for sure! But everything else was a freakin joke!
If you were at the USFO let me know what you think!

pretty much all the womens skiing I saw at the USFO was a joke. sure sarah and grete and a couple others were somewhat legit, but overall watching female competition annoys me. Chicks spend all their time ranting about how they're equal to men and yadda yadda yadda, but I mean how can you watch the mens and the womens pipe at usfo and honestly say that there aren't obvious differences between men's and women's capabilities. I'm not hating on chicks skiing I think it's awesome, just dont complain when someone suggests that you might not be as good since you're a girl, cause it's basically a fact for whatever reason.

there is some sick female skiers that could definately school me but most womens sports in general is a joke. i could have played high school girls varsity soccer when i was in 6th grade. i dont play basketball and i could probobly start on a girls basketball team.

did i ever say that men and women are equal? I think not so... I don't know what you are talking about. Of course there are differences men go much bigger in the pipe and everything else. but that has nothing to do with the way they scored the women.!

ok first off, the winning run, by anna wasnt all 3s... it went was right 3 (the only girl to spin both ways...) backflip/loop type thing, left 3, left 5, all with grabs, and good rails... and it was sick and stomped. grete should have podiumed for sure, but anna deserved to be up there. kristy didnt... grete, michelle and grete all had sick runs.

if jess cummings got 4th then i know that comp was a joke. im pretty sure the best trick she does is a horrible looking 5. and a 3 at the bottom, all lacking amplitude. i agree with the guy above me as well, i think a lot of the chicks skiing in the womens comps are a joke. i applaud them for getting out and trying but you cant compare them to someone like tanner or simon boosting 20 plus feet. its not on the same level. i believe honestly that grete is one of the only girls out there who actually throw down. and that is because quite frankly she skis like a guy. im not being sexist but it is hard to judge a competition like that because of the over all lack of skill and difficulty of tricks being thrown. if 20 girls do the exact same trick its super hard to rank them fairly.

My opinion exactly as far as the slopestyle goes
I didn't watch pipe, we left on our 20 hour drive after the big air
Girls just don't have the muscles to do some things, that's why they get hurt way easier. I don't blame them for going small in the pipe.
Did you see the two girls that tried to hit the gap to rail? they both got rocked, they just didn't have to strength to absorb that sort of impact

Men are throwing 1440's and double flips while chicks are still getting stoked on 7's. A 9 out of a female is like the most ridiculous thing ever and would win a comp instantly.

why are u guys hating on chicks? Just get over yourselves and realize that they are trying their hardest too. This sport can hurt you really bad, and there are alot more girls coming up who can defy gravity, it takes time. Females just have more of a natural instinct to not put themselves in danger so I can imagine skiing is alot harder for them, especially doing crazy tricks. You have to remember that these jumps at comps are pretty big and icy, pretty intimidating until you get them dialed.
And Grete won the pipe though right? That says alot, we all know she is badass. She prob should have podium, but ah well, as long as she came out unscathed and ready for the rest of the season thats all that matters. There is definately so much room for females in this sport right now, but we have alot of good talent now and coming up, support that shit, cause chiks are hot. :)

i didnt either. all i was aying is that it seems like girls think that they are on the same level as guys but as i pointed out, many of them do identical tricks and it is hard to decide which is more difficult.

you mean $7000. But girls should get less than $2500. The depth of competition is FAR less than the guys and the stuff being thrown is vastly inferior. Only one girl went for a swich 720 in finals (I commend that), and the rest was so-so. Compare that to the guys....
And Kristi did not deserve what she got. Such a yawn of a run...

yes. I think there were less than 25 girls in quals and over 100 in the mens. As of now, there's a bigger talent group, big names, exposure, and bank in the men's field. Nothin against the girls. They're growin fast so someday im sure itll be closer. Think of it this way. A couple years ago, snowboarding was bigger than skiing which meant they got bigger prizes. Now they're pretty close. Plus womens vs mens snowboarding is pretty close. We're just a couple years behind them still. The sports growin.

yes, for a guy to win they have to fuckin boost on every jump and throw huge spins and do really tech shit like 450s and shit on rails, chicks just have to clear the jumps with some smooth 3s and 5s and grease the rails. Props to the girls who can do 3s both ways cuz that's still impressive, but I mean guys have to throw cab 7s both ways. It makes sense chicks win less also cuz guys competition is way more exciting to watch and draws a much better crowd.

im not really sure why grete didnt get more love from the judges. i know she fell on her second run but landed her first. anna killed it and was super solid on everything. theres really no reason to hate. judging the open has to be one of the hardest jobs in the world..... it seems like every year the open claims more and more girls. denise broke her pelvic and pelvis bones and shadasha and kim lammare tore their acls. a lot of girls were going for it, but couldnt stomp their tricks under pressure, but that doesnt mean they suck. i personally was impressed by the level of skiing in the womens slope this year... everyone needs to stop hatin!!!!

It went like this: - Rodeo 5, Switch Right 5, Left 900, switch Left 900.
That's pretty damn legit.
Too bad she didn't land it in the event, well, actually on her second run she got as far as the 900 and her ski popped off on the landing, she didn't even crash.

i agree very much with the girl who makes this thread. I did filming at the open and the girls were so dumb to watch. they dont ever do grabbing and they cant even barely do 360 most of the time. they always dont make it to the landing too! only grete is good. all the girls hold their hands out way in front of them when they go off of the jump and looks like big scaredy cats, they dont look comfortabel at all. i hope one day they can learn to do something cool.
