you are retarted. chads is a flat table. as in the landing is almost the same height as the takeoff. i think its like 2 feet of drop. and chads is 110 feet.
woozy, care for me to find where in the "how to get to chad's gap from Alta" thread a local says the landing is just a hair below the lip? the first pic only shows half the gap- do you think Tanner started off way up in there air? the second pic, camera angle, plain and simple. get across the gulch with a zoom lense, hike just a little higher to put the lip and landing both in the frame, and bingo, you can make the 120' gap look like a massive step-down, too. lip and landing are practically level.
i never beleieved that they were going 90 at shasta. i thought a saw a picture but it doesnt make any sense. spong would have died at that speed hands down. plus daron rahlves record for speed skiing down a course was 83 or so, so its hard for me to beleive they were going 95...that doesnt make sense.
And also, the mt. shasta jump had a snowmobile tow in, down hill, for soooo long. It was radared in freeskier at 91 mph. So..... yeah thats pretty legit. It has a picture of the gun.
I just arrived at Jiminy. It's true this is by far the biggest jump I've ever seen. I'm gonna go hike up the hill and hit it in a few minutes I"ll be back to tell you how it went
The gap at shasta for the booter ball bash was designed to be just that, a gap jump. They didnt want it to have a lot of pop. ALl they needed was speed to clear it. If the jump has enogh pop, then huge distances are possible with the right amount of speed. You only need 64mph to hit chads cause that jump is build with pop. Go back and look at the booters ball pics, the jump is very flat and it just looks crazy cuase its a 120 foot true gap jump which is hard to come by these days.
have any of you actually gone that fast and known it. i have a gps unit that tells me my top speed and the highest ive gotten it up to is 119 km/h which is about 73 mph and i was scared shitless. i think it was more like 90 km/h not mph. and i promise you. chads gap is flat. ill bet my life on it. ive been up the canyon in the summer and been there.
THAT WAS SICK!!!! best jump session of my life. I overshot the first hit, that kinda hurt my heels but I got back up and hit a few more times. 540 truck driver, switch 9, zerospin. HEllz ya
i could build a 4 ft high lip and if you hit it fast enough im sure youd find a down hill area somewhere to land on. the point is its not a jump until someone has cleaned it or tried it.
hey man u were my roomate at HN.. i left early though cuz i injured myself.. and yes tis true i am a local at jiminy.. they built it to try and bring in some CASH MONEY to put into their park.. we sessioned it today... it was real scary but all of us 360d it and andrew did what he said
jiminy sucks.. what he is talkin about it they built a take off and never did anythign else.. so the natural steep part of the trail he is callin the "landing" dumb thread.. dumb mountain... jiminy needs to get their act together being the better of spots for night skiing
