We need a couple of things: Height, Weight, skier ability, as well as what percentages of park, all-mtn, etc. you will use the skis on. These will help us give you direction.
Remember that a ski that is excellent in park may suck in pow as well as a perfect pow stick may be hell in the park. A quiver or buying a ski that is more oriented towards a specific focus will give you more happiness then settling on both ends and getting a ski that is ok at both but not great at either.
right on. there are some skis that can get the job done either way, but like stated, there are specific skis designed for park, designed for pow, designed for all mountain, and designed for freeride anywhere.
youre height, weight, experience, ability, and even what kind of waist you want on your ski will be a big help.
all righty, i am 6 foot 3. so like a size 181. i dont know how to explain my expierience or skill level, i can 7 switch 5 and such. i have the really old head mad trix right now and they are extremley skinny at the waist and nose and tail. skiing in any powder is a challenge. the nose always dives so i just want somthing that i can ski park in and ski with in powder. i dont need anything amazing for the powder, just something i can manage in it better. is this making sense? oh, and like i for waiste, i am thinking like atleast 85 or so.
I would suggest the Seth, in a 179 or 189 even. I would lean towards the 189 because of your height, but if you want a ski that can spin, I would go the next size down.
i agree. the seth has a 98 waist so it will do great in the pow. if you ski alot of pow, you might want to get the 179 and mount recommended, because 189 might be just a little too much, and you might regret it and think you either shouldve gone smaller or mounted center (which wouldnt work for pow anyways).
also, a little smaller waist is the chronic blend, 90 waist and pretty much a great all around ski.
and the scratch bc or bc wr, has a 98 waist as well? dont quote me on that. i believe these are a little stiffer than the seths, so maybe better for ice and big booters.
