Dude you can't tape over tapes. The actual scotch tape inside will catch fire and explode. As this explosion happens, it well send off nuclear waste, killing millions within a 5 mile radius. Then after that, your body will give off herpes to the whole world and we will all die. Make sure to NEVER tape over.
oh god i made that mistake once...blew the heads in my camera i had to take it in. costed so much to repair i just decided to get a new camera...for some reason i didnt get herpes though....not sure why. maybe minidv doesnt give off herpes
the only way re-recording over tape would cause a problem is if you do it a bunch of times. as in, if you re-record over the same section multiple times, eventually the tape will start to wear down and the picture quality will go. otherwise, just recording over something once or twice shouldnt be a problem.
