first offense speeding tickets

Much of it is attitude. You go in thinking that its not fair that YOU fucked up and got caught, then he'll give you a ticket.
If your apologetic, and respectful, then he's more likely to let you off.
35 over is a large amount, I can see maybe reducing it, but you should get a fine for that.

And when in doubt, pull out the military ID. I've gotten out of countless tickets, with respect.

yeah be really afraid of him and respond yes sir and shit and act like this is going to be the end of your life, he might feel bad for you, but if you do all of that and he still gives you the ticket and you dont plan on going to court flick him off and burn out

ok once i got pulled over 74 in a 40. the statie gave me a verbal warning to slow down. the a few weeks ago i got pulled over for doing 53 in a school zone, the school zone was a halfmile back, and there is no way i was going 53 because it was a sharp ass corner and the cop didnt see me until i was around the corner. so i got 5 points and 200 dolalr fine. im goin to court.

I don't know how it works up there, but in USA we can go to traffic school, and that will clear first offences from your record.

Allright, you reminded me of a story. This story takes place about a year ago.
READ THIS STORY! It's great :)

I was on my way to school. I had just gotten two tickets that week, so I was pissed off at police.
A cop drove by me. I was paranoid - looking in every direction trying to make sure I had done nothing wrong. He continues to drive past me, and i stare him down in my rear view mirror waiting to see if he does anything. He's about 300 feet back there, I continue to stare at his car in my mirror as I'm driving. Then he does it. He flips on his lights.
Shit, there was a long line of traffic that I was in but i figured it was probably for me.
Rage's 'f' the police was playing in my head. I didn't feel like dealing with any bullshit today, so I said to hell with it. I saw some back road coming up.. I have never been back there but I figure what the hell. I swerve onto the windy mountain road. I floored my gas, I was going 95 mph (and this is on a crazy mountain road).
I continued to race down this road for a while, I lost the cop - he was way back there.

But then I realize; what if this comes to a dead end? I've never been done here, so I don't know.
Everything is blurry but I make out a house in front of me. It seems like no one is there so I take my chances. I pulled my ebrake and swerved into the house's driveway.
No one was there.
I just waited. Waited for the cop to drive by.
A minute passes, nothing happens.
I wait about 30 more seconds and there he is. He flies by the house.
I wanted to pull out and speed the other way, but he could've been waiting for me to make a move.
So I just waited there.
Another minute passes, the cop drives by the house like he's leaving. He slowly drives by.
All is well, he didn't spot me. I thought I was home-free. But then he notices the skidmarks from the tires ( I pulled the brakes going over 90). Then he crept into the driveway.
I was screwed.
I wanted to run, but that didn't seem like a great idea.

He asked me if I lived there.
No officer.

I made up some lame story.

It turns out that the cop was originally just going to warn me not to go so fast, but since I tried to evade him, he gave me a speeding ticket for a few miles over. I never got anything else.

that is a funny story, it is sweet that he chased you down to give you a speeding ticket and nothing else, you are luck he didn't cuff you and take you away.

i got a ticket in a school zone one time, i was all lost and i didn't know where i was and i wasn't paying attention and this school zone is like one intersection long, like 50 yeards, and it is 60 on either side, and it was like 2:30 on a wendnesday, no kids around, and i was in traffic with like four other cars and we where all going to the same speed, and i guess right as we go through the intersection the light turned yellow, i didn't see it, it was still green when i went through as far as i knew, so there is a cop just sitting there on the other side of the lights, and he was out side of his car, in the middle of the street, and he flags me down, and i was like what the fuck? there are four other cars doing the same speed as me?!?! so i play the whole i didn't see the light turn yellow blah blah and there is a school zone there? and he gave me a ticket for the full deal running a light, speeding thru a school zone, i was like holy shit! but he didn't get me on radar and it was an estimaded speed, and the light was still green when i went thru, so i plead not guilty on my ticket and like 4 months after the fact i goto court and the motherfucker doesn't show up so i got off scott free.

there is alot of shit that has to do with fines.

here is a few i have noticed.

1)type of car. if you get pulled over driving a done up civic, your fucked.
2) what your wearing. if you look like a little thug, your fucked.
3) whos in the car. Lots of friends and your fucked.
4) attitude. wanna be a cocky fuck, youll get fucked.
5) what is in your car. anything that is deemed as a distraction can get you fucked.

just a few things ive noticed.

so wanna know the best thing to do?

keep your drivers license in a window wallet right beside a picture of a guy in cop uniform.
cop sees the pic, will ask you who it is, tell him its your dad. cop will ask what division, tell him downtown. cop will ask how many years on the force. tell him you dont know.

both seward and freezy have great points, but when you are going 85 in a 50, thats 35 over. of course he is gonna give you a ticket, you are lucky you dont go to jail. in my state, 25 over is reckless endangerment which you can be arrested for.

I think tickets all depend on the cop's mood cause being a chick, you would figure i woulda gotten off of my ticket super easy, but i didn't. I was doing 96 in a 65 so only 31 over got a ticket of 191.50 USD. Maybe it was the fact that I had a snowboard on the top of my car and everyone knows that snowboarders are bad kids that do drugs and are anarchists, who knows. But fighting it is the best way, as long as you get a lawyer. It also depends on who the DA is in the area that you got your ticket cause some are more pro cop, others are more pro citizens. I got mine reduced to 11 over and 3 points rather htan having it suspended. I tried to ass kiss to the cop and be all girlie and seem scared, but really, it doesnt work. Best advice I can offer from my experience is always fight them. Oh, and if the cop has his window up, there is a slim chance he was using a gun or if he was, they aren't allowed to do that. If the cop car was parallel to the road, good chance he was bouncing it off his mirror or not using.

yeah i got my license suspended for 90 days for only going 15 mph over. not even a school zone or anything. good thing is i only 11 days left.

Well if you arent just bitching to get sympathy for us...and you have proof of him 'picking' on you unfairly and not stopping other drivers, contest the ticket in court you cant get anything worse done to you, and if it looks like you won by a landslide and everybody agrees with you...sue his ass!
