^word, go to a shop try on boots and find out the name, size, style of the boot you are looking for b/c different boot companies bake their boots slightly different^
a good tip is to get the 29 if at all possible. The shell size between the 29 and the 29.5 is the same, just a different liner. the tighter fit, if you can pull it off, will help, and they will break in and be larger if your foot is a bit long.
Also, as nomen pointed out, see a boot fitter. I buy boots online, but I got a buddy who will fit me in. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FRIEND WHO WILL DO THIS, BUY FROM THE SHOP. Unless, you have a friend who does it for a living, and will do the fitting for you, don't waste the time of an employee who is usually paid on comission.
i wear size 13 shoes and i pretty much have to order my boots online and hope to get lucky, no shope carries anything above a 29.5, my langes should be in anytime now...
i think it's perfectly legit if you can save like 100 bucks by getting boots online. nomen I know you work in a shop, would you ever really pay retail for boots if you could get them way cheaper? I'd juts go to your shop try on some boots and be like well yea I want these, but they have them online for this much and I'm mad broke so I'm gonna get them there unless you guys are gonna put them on sale any time soon. If you are a kid buying them yourself and you make like under 10 bucks an hour, buying stuff at retail isn't really very smart. It sucks for the shop, but it's their fault, they dont have to charge retail for everything. My shop only charges like 350 for spk boots.
you deserve a savage beating. suppourt your local shop, and don't waste their time. I fucking hate when people come in to the shop where i work, and ask 100's of questions and waste like an hour of my time and then suddenly leave.
that is a very big asshole move BUT you can go there and have them give you boots to try on and then you just try them on and see wut you like best but if they sit with you and go through all the steps to fit you then you better buy them from there. also you can just straight up say you need to try them on because you are getting them from someone online used but you dont know how they fit, then you wont waste there time theyll just get the boots and leave you alone.
well if you are of age or close enough to finagel this, the perfect alternative would be to walk in with a 6 pack and be like yo I just need you to help me figure out what size boots to get so I can buy 'em online. Or one time I had to go to another shop to try on boots that I was gonna prodeal cuz we didn't carry them, and I just told him ahead of time and he wasn't busy at all cuz it was on like a monday night so he didn't mind helping a fellow skier out. just tell them though dont be like yea I really wanna buy these right now can I try them on?
