Nice park...
I don't even care that it's just rails and jibs, but shit, can they do ANYTHING right?
Pathetic.

another thing...why do they say everything will open mid day? Does nobody work at night? On the other side the HV crew worked through the night last night to get a pretty decent slopestyle course together.

HA.
Yeha, if you've never been outside of WNY it's nice.
In comparison to anything Mt St Louis Moonstone or Blue mountain does, it is complete trash.
Pure shit in comparison. Flat landings. Oh wait, my bad, they have that little ice triangle at the end of the features.

yea. I'm going to agree, although they attempted to make the kickers not ride on, the landings still suck worse than anything. I almost died on the Rainbow's landing yesterday.

Yeah, but they are gap-ons without the gap. The rail is just too close to the ramp to make sense.

hence attempted. Even though I didn't do it, I thought the "urban" style rail was set up nice. The jump to that was clean because noone really hit it. same with the landing.

it was not that bad. The only landing with a hole in it was the rainbow box, which you could easily rise away from. what was really messed up was that jump on the left. was it supposed to be a step up... the kicker was the same size as the landing

steve is referring to the park rails not the stuff on holy. the jump onto the c box was not even lined up with the front of the c box?
the red rail had rollers on the take off.... the urban style rail was the nice one, i actually cant complain about that. But like having the jump lower than the rail when there is no gap on a non-urban style set up... just dosnt work...On the kb blog it says that Eric Langman says that whats up now is in no was reresenting what the finished park will be. Im not getting my hopes up for anything well see what happens.

The urban and the flat down were decent. I can't hate on those too much. Little more downhill landing wouldn't hurt, but those aren't too bad.
The C-Rail was dumb as shit, with an off-angle takeoff, and NO landing whatsoever. The flat red-rail was the gap-on without the gap. That jump looked like death. Step-up in idea, but it lacked a halfway decent takeoff.
It seemed to me they half-assed everything just to get things open.
Maybe I'm just bitter and spoiled having been at Mt St Louis Moonstone last weekend.

how are the jumps, mitch told me that they are lacking a landing, solid ice, and are overly long since the kickers send you about a few inches in the air

Thats what always seems to be case with the jumps on moonshine. You cant really say much about the ice factor though... this is NY.

yea, I guess...I hit the landings on both, but yea they definitely need a bigger lip all in all not bad for moonshadow, we will see how the elbow looks when they finish that off

I'm not gonna lie, the flat box is setup pretty fun.
A little steeper landing would make it perfect IMO.
Man that small jump they built though has suuuuch a flat landing.

The park overall at HV is nice, fF you get enough speed you get some decent air, and the landings arent all ice, and long which is a plus cause than tis impossible to overshoot it.

long landings is definably a change for holiday, or wny in general. HV looks to be getting there shit together this year, but still not as good as it should be considering the money at that place.

yup i still never really use my poles in the park anymore.
So i went to hv last night and i really liked the jumps they had. And from what i read on the kb blog the "BIg" hits the have build sound pretty small...20-30 foot decks huuuge man.

So yeah. Didn't get a chance to shred the hits today, but saw them from the lift. (I was out with my girlfriend who was skiing for her 2nd time
Only saw the top one. Looks reeeeeeeeallly nice. 10- foot wide takeoff. Looks to be a 40-ish foot deck.
Plus they made the flat box intimidating.. THere's like a 3-4 foot gap before it.

The top jump was the nicest of them all and it was pretty nice...but I wouldn't say its more than 30 ft.

oh yay, really? I can't wait for that tomorrow. The c-boxes still disappoint me though, they seem to be angled wrong to the jump so it's hard to stay on. But the f-u-f was fun the other day, as well with the flat down box.

Top jump is soooooooooooooooooo nice.
Second 2 are sketchy. Jumps are good, but the landings are frightenly short.
And yeah, I hear ya on the C-Boxes. They just aren't alighned right. And how the hell does Langman think it's acceptable to have the flat rail takeoff the way it is, right before the last steep part of the park run?

So i was there yesterday and today. flat box jump is cool to jump onto it, but the landings messed up. That flat rail or up rail, whatever it is at the end, the takeoff is half gone. The landing to most of the rails are big holes, anndd yea, same with the jumps. I dunno, I had fun though, the snow's fantastic.
