this is my first full year of skiing and i can slide ar rail fine but i am having trouble with spinning a 270 off like a 2 1/2 foot rail can i get some tips?
yea get a bigger rail haha most people land 2 1/2 feet down a rail when they jump onto it. Also, make sure your rail is at a decent height to give you some time to throw that 2 off
Look with your head and follow your momentum, start looking the way you want to spin when your almost off the rail, and then just look to your landing, your skis will follow.
Its really hard for me cause I spin regular but slide with my left foot foreward. I heard that you need to throw a bit of an edge on the rail to stop the rotation one way so you can throw the 270 off rotating the opposite direction.
its hard to learn on the internet, your best bet is to find someone who can do them and ask him/her to show you and tell you what you're doing wrong, cuz there's a million ways to mess up, and you need to figure out what you need to change which we can really do online.
no u dont^
ok basicaly i figured out that if u slide the rail, like everyone, fully perpendicualr, try slideing it(near the end) like at an angle ( / ) then pop and spin off... idk how to fully explain it
your saying dont commit all the way so your like 45 degrees then right near the end of the rail start your spin while still on the rail(like last 6 inches) and then pop off and do the rest of the '270'
^ no i know what chris means he means like at the last section go from a 90 degree to a 45 then right at the end of the rail pop and spin hes teaching me how to do it he does it really smooth this way so it works really good
when you are about 5 ft from the end turn your head back uphill towards the rail. You will start to spin a little bit and then jump lift knees and turn torso.
