Hi....

who damn can explain me how to do a flatspin...how to start..how to spin...
this is my favorite trick ! I'd like to learn

its really hard to explain, i can do them on the tramp but not consistantly. you have to just try stuff, just throw rodeos and misties more or less off axis and shit will just flow. i do them forward myself. i do a misty but grab opposite hand, keep my left arm up and try to look along a straight line for at least 360 degrees then find my landing(spinning to the right by the way). they are so weird to figure out but once you do you will know and they will come.

i would reccommend finding as many videos of the trick as possible and just watch them over and over.

flaten out a rodeo. your 1st 180 you should be flat on your back with your feet cloest to the jump

thank you guys..but i've read somewhere that you have to, before the taking off, pull down your ass and throw your feet forward and your back in the direction you spin that's right ?

On a trampoline, try to do a backflip but with your feet way further to the side. If anything you will learn flat 3's. And if you can't do backflips don't even try to do flatspins.

i cant do backflips and i can do flatspins. its possible to throw them forward you know, a handful of pros even do.

UNOFFICIAL (but pretty damn good)'HOW TO' TO A FLATSPIN:

If you wanna know how, listen up. What you need to do is throw your right shoulder (if you want to spin to the left) as if you were kinda gonna tackle some one. but instead of being face down you have to roll over onto your back. IN OTHER WORDS pretend that you wanted to, from a standing position, jump onto the floor onto your back with your feet facing where you were standing origionally. AS if falling forward but spinning 180 so you land on your back. But you have to through your shoulder so you get into that position. NOTE: going too inverted is often a result of not throwing it up enough to stay flat. and if you end up in the on-your-back position with your head not pointing directly down hill like you should, but accross the fall line resembling an awkward misty, you probably need to throw it to the right more instead of directly infront of you to counter act this. Besides throwing it you just look over your shoulder, you can spot it pretty soon and then just stomp it!

woa, i thought a flat spin was like, in the pipe, you just get your skis parralel to the deck of the pipe, so it looks like this = (the top line represents ur skis and hte bottom line is the deck of the pipe), i am getting the impression that i am wrong

ya do what cool dude said and you might want to try things like looking between your feet and back at a wall or something to keep you uninverted, or try doing a really tweaked mute into the trick both somehow worked for me.

glad i could help. Yeah in a pipe they are a little different. From what I know you throw it like a rodeo more or less. Because you are already 90 degrees on your back the more inverted rodeo actually pulls your axis beyond inverted and back to flat if you know what I mean. That is why some seem to be belly down. Im not quite so sure about this one because Ive tried it but with not a whole lot of luck. Any one know more about it on a pipe?
