External hard drive question?

alright so i just bought a 250 gig. hard drive for my iMac G4, i am using iMovie right now(yes i know i should be using final cut....i will be soon) and i am wondering how i can set it up so when i import clips they go onto my external hard drive instead of my internal, becuase i have like no space left on my internal.

although i dont have a mac, i'd have to say check in preferences to see where its saving to

yea it has a directory where it saves the imported videos. i use premiere and what it does is it saves it to the initial spot that the project is being saved in. so access your external harddrive from the program, make a folder on it and in that folder save the work there. im not sure how imovie works but if it works like premiere, where you create the project and save it before you even start, then this is what to do

Yeah, there shoudl be an option in Imovie that decides where it saves the c lips.

there should be a save file as, go into that, and choose your external hard drive, then make a folder, and save it there
