SPK Experience

I have about 20 days on my SPK boots and they still fit great. The break in is not as much as you would think on a boot like this. I thought it was going to be sloppy after like 10 days but it is not. It has a great hold on the foot and it is the most comfortable boot for riding switch in. Not to mention the boots ski the whole mountain very well. I was on a piar of Prophet 90's and the stability with the SPK boot and Z12 Ti Binding was one of the best setups I have been on for a while.

yea they're sick. they dont hold my foot quite was well was my gun boots did, but for a "park specific" boot they are really good out of the park.

I aggre, I have the Pro Model Gun boot as well for the powder days and if I just want to go fast, but for the money you can not go wrong with the SPK Boot. Fits out of the box. It does run a little big, but that works for me because I am a 10.5 and usually run a 26.5 boot.

thats sick, it looks like salomon is making a bunch of them for next season so ill be sure to check them out at a store to see how they fit. I feel like they would fit well cuz i have a wide feet.

The SPK from this season will be in the lineup again. There is going to be a stiffer version and a softer version that I believe is a women's version. They are alos thinking about bringing in a junior version as well.

whats the difference between the spk's and the 1080 foils from last year cuz i got the foils and i could say the same about those as what you said about your spk's

yeah im about 10 or 15 days into mine and they are perfect for me, especially cause im not very heavy so they arnt super soft. just enough.

ya i rode 29.0 1080's last year and got 28.5 SPK's this year and after about 15 days of riding they have packed out and dont fit right anymore so im trying to buy a 28.0 liner from my shop but it doesnt look like they have any.

As for the liner I think you are going to find that they are both the same, the only difference being the footbed in the boot. You might be able to try a little Bontex under the liner. You should ask your local shop if you can get some of that.

The difference between half sizes in salomon boots is the thickness of the liner's foam, so a 27.0 fits narrower than a 27.5 but the length is the same.

And for whoever posted saying they use the Gun and the SPK, those are completely different fits, I don't know how you can ski both. The SPK has to be the widest boot I've ever put on.

I have a wide foot, but I can still use a Gun boot. It is a matter of sucking up the pain for the results. Yes they are totaly different fits, but it does not mean that you can not work on them to get them to fit right. Cork footbeds make a huge difference.

sickest boots i've ever owned, except i brok the top buckle in under 10 days of skiing. it just cracked. like no hitting it. i was pretty disappointed in the quality of the buckles but other than that is siick.

Never had that problem when I was skiing. The only spot that hurt when you are taking the boot off sometimes the plastic over the instep will hit your foot. Other than that I have had no problems when skiing.

i have a 10.5 shoe size, and i rock the 28.5 mondo. They have just enough space so i can put another sock on if im cold so its perfect. The problem i have is that i can pretty much just ride with salomon boots because of my wide ass hobbit snowshoe feet. I love my new foils, super comfy, but i liked the spks more because of the stance. Really takes stress of your knees. The boot im most pumped about is the Full Tilt boots ( Flexons). Honestly those are the best boots i ever had. the only problem they had was the orignial liner, and now they have a new one. I really want those boots.

I've got like 30 days on my spks now and they are actually packing out a lot, I wish I had some 28 liners instead of 28.5 (If anyone wants to trade, pm me!)
