Well, I've been playing the beta version of it... and heres my review:
Woo. Hoo.
Its fun, for sure. Finally, a game that has three axis' of rotation. Thats right, you can lincoln loop, rodeo, flatspin, bio, cork and even D-spin around huge levels of knee deep powder. The game can get a little rediculous of course (I have a 300 foot drop record for largest drop, and you can do quadruple rodeo 1800's once your character has the max stats...), but overall, its pretty realistic. Its hella fun just going balls out through levels and making huge McConkey turns everywhere.
My only gripes are these - (and they might be fixed in the final version, so who knows!)
-Grabs: Distinct lack of variety. Mute, Tail and safety are all you get, plus three special grabs that each character has preset. However, each of the grabs is already assigned to a rotation, so you can only do rocket grabs with a frontflip, backscratchers with a rodeo... kinda like the demo. I wish they would change this, you need a huge variety of grabs.
-Landing: You can land sideways. Come on.... Also, landing switch in knee deep pow should be a bit harder to stick, especially if you get point bonuses for it.
-Careers: This part of the game is lacking. New equipment does nothing, so theres no point in changing anything, unless you worry about the cosmetics...
-Levels: 8 levels for the most part (competitions dont count). They can get a little repetitive, but maybe I just play them too often. Amped levels are much longer.
-Speed: Maybe its the deep pow, but you never seem to get above maybe 30 or 40mph, even straightline-ing.
There are also lots of little things, like maybe adding a 'revert' button or something. Overall, its a great game. I've spent many hours on it, and riding endless untracked powder never gets old, even on a video game.
