So this july me and a gaggle of east coasters want to shred the glacial gnar of mt hood, anyone know where to stay for the cheapest? Cramming into small places is not a problem, as long as it saves us some dough.
camp would be a hoot, but none of our parents will wanna hook that up and none of us can really afford it ourselves... we found plane tickets for like 250 after taxes which is sick so if we can put together a place to stay and some form of transporation we're golden. we're probably gonna stay at a campground.
^heh yea I got that and that is our plan right now so good call. and anyone from the new england area who wants to go to hood for like 10 days and cant/doesn't want to pay for camp if you pay for your shit you're welcome to join us it'll be a honking good time and we'll be filming with a vx1000 so you'll probably get some tight shots as well. PM me if you are actually interested and old enough to go without parentals (we're all between like 16 and 18 I think)
trillium if you want a legit site and bathrooms and shit or the airstrip if you wanna do your own thing. hood in the summer = epic. well be back out there in july for sureeee.
^yea that's our next problem, i emaild hood and asked about where the closest place to the mountain is to camp, hopefully there is some place close enough to walk to skiing...? pretty sure we can score a bus ride from the airport to the mountain right?
bring a tent and camp in the parking lot, or ontop of thier storage garage. you can just hangout in the lodge and you dont have to drive when you wake up.
that sounds perfect for us, I was emailing them to make sure that is legit though since people can be pretty uptight about that kinda shit these days. that sounds sweet though, thanks.
even if you didnt wanna do it right by the lodge you could just park your car in the lot, walk down the access road a bit and set up camp in the woods somewhere.
the whole car part might be a problem though, since i think most places you have to be 25 to rent a car, and i think the oldest person with us will be 21
yea a car is pretty much out of the question becuase not only are we not old enough but that'd be a fair chunk of skrilla as well. I'm hopin we can get a bus to the mountain and camp right there. can anyone verify that this bus I'm speaking of exists and isn't hella expensive? haha I feel like the biggest bum in this thread, but with like 67 cents in my bank account my travel budget isn't lookin so hot.
hmmmm hitch a ride from the airport to hood, camp in the parking lot. hahah orr... i do no that theres a shuttle that goes from pdx to bend known as the breeze waY, and its 25$ i think. but i believe it stops in govy.
first off dont tell timberline your gonna camp near them .. thell call the forest fuzz on your ass in a second... this summer is gonna suck cause there puttin a new lift in and the good camp areas are gonna be not chill this year.. but yeah... hitch hiking is realy really easy.
alright ma fuckas. done this afew times back in the day
bring a tent pitch it either at the airstrip or secretly in the woods behind the chevron.....tower 8 maybe *hint
then walk to the bottom of the access road everyday hitch a ride...it aint hard and youll meet some people
live off cheep groceries, drink PBR 40z at night, eat mushrrooms, smoke top tobacco, clown around a ton, sleep and repeat the next day. it aint hard, in fact its fuckn easy
good luck bitches
