Yeah, its way legit. People were going off today, some pros. Is Boreal the only Mountain in cali with a pipe right now?
Great job Eric, adds such a good element to boreal's park.

I was down at Mammoth the other day and they've got a pipe. It was pretty fun too!

sceduled to be cut from 2-6pm. We hade some holes to patch by hand by mixing water and snow. Becuase of that we didn't start cutting until 6pm. So the pipe was actually open an hour longer than it could have been. We could have left the holes but they pretty much made the left wall unridable for about 50ft section. I make the final call on when the pipe is open or closed and there was no way I was gona let those holes get any worse. They had to be fixed and fixed the right way. Sorry the pipe closed at 6pm.

yes, every effort wil be made to have it re-open by 6pm.
2-6pm is the window of time we advertise for the recut. This time of year we wont need that whole time block alot of the time so the pipe will be open longer. Last night the pipe was only closed from 4:45-6:30. I will try to stay within the 6pm deadline as best as I can. Yesterday the pipe was in good shape and alot of people were still riding late in the afternoon so I started later. Its only been a few days so I'm just getting feel of how and when is the best way to deal with these snow conditions.
It wont be until it warms up alot that the pipe will be closed for most of that 2-6pm window. When it gets slushy I will be cutting much closer to 2pm and keeping the pipe closed until closer to 6pm so the snow has time to setup and be durable for the night session.
We have a bunch of pipe comps coming up starting next weekend. *star has cancelled several and we have picked them up. Usasa and Ussa have both added pipe events at Boreal. Ussa is skiing only and usasa is ski/board. I'll post dates as soon as possible as we are still working out somew details with the event promoters. i'll also post any details on the impact the comps will have on the pipe schedule.
later skaters
