 As skiers, we are the people who use gear the most. The people who spend their hard earned or hard grovelled cash to buy equipment. The idea of skiers designing equipment is the driving force behind many independant companies teams. However, this is a select group of very talented individuals.

This thread is for you.

Suggest a fix for a problem you see in your ski gear. A clear explination of the problem as well as your solution will be very helpful for others to understand what you mean.  Constructive criticism is encouraged, as that will only make ideas better. If you flame, you help noone, but if we can create something cool together, than maybe the industry will notice and then incorperate it into their product.

I will start.

As the owner of a new pair of Lange Freeride 120 boots, I have noticed that my toes get cold. This maybe in part to the snow that creeps into my boots through the crease in the shell. This could be fixed by running my buckles tighter, but then my toes would lose circulation and the whole thing would be for naught.

I suggest a rubber sheath under the crease, that is stretched while the boot is unbuckled. While the boot is buckled, it would lose the stress on the rubber but keep snow off of the liner and out of the toe box. This sheath would run all the way up the upper buckles, to keep the snow out.

Cheap poles that dont break. Sometimes i think about it though, about half of the poles i have broken or bent severely have been essentially wrapped around my leg or torso. If i have been using composite poles, it would probably have hurt a hell of alot more.

composite poles don't hurt unless you shatter them. I love mine. Cheap and strong poles would be hard to manufacture for profit as well. The 60-100 dollar poles could use some internal reinforcement though.

I would, but I go racer style and unbuckle my boots a lot because I like them tight while going down and then loose on the lift so I can let my blood flow and keep my feet warm. Those boot gloves won't really let me do this.
