In the idea of where they place the features. beginer park some place else? next to the real one? mixed together? right before or after so you can hit both? a long run with very few options or multiple choices? jumps all together and rails all together or mixed?
my park was seperate jump rail lines. right now tho there arent any jumps because they dont have enough snow. right now i actually like there beginner park better cause its got a longer rail line
my hill doesnt even have apark. but one about an hour north has a decent pipe and park when theres snow, but currently it is raining outside. so i guess i would say i dont like my park too much right now.
freeway is the perfect park.... but it would be way cooler if they made the top part of 4 o'clock like gold king and country boy so you could warm up for freeway
i like when rails and jumps are mixed in, but it's hard because of the different speeds needed. mostly it's just fun to come off a rail and go right into a jump without waiting in line
i find that most people dnt hit park like slopestlye one after another no stop. i like wen thers like "drop in rolls" before each it so two people dnt hit a feature at once and one either has to pull out or they crash. i like it wen the rolls are steep too so you can get speed and still be able to see when someones going
i like various jumps at top with no rails so i dnt pussy out and hit a rail and than i like a "rail park" thats kinda flat and loaded with rails that you can hike and not get in the way of the flow. this would be mostly technical low rails and than after that a mini slopestyle type course with the big features, huge rails and big booters on the same tables.
the pipe could be next to the park
and beginer features should be intermixed so if you hav frends that suck you can still ski with them and have fun regardless of ability
it has to have plenty of features that you can form into lines that flow nicely. its nice if the beginner park is mixed with the expert, so if your good at some things and not others, you can still have a line that pushes you, but doesnt kick your ass.
i hate when parks are like 3 rails all set up next to each other, so you have to choose one of the 3. they will have like 3 sets of 2 or 3 rails, and its retarded because it cuts the number of rails to do in a run down a LOT.
i like hella shit crammed into one run, i think jump lines and rail lines need to be seperated though.
seeing how my hill is bearly onprn cause there is no snow all we have is a 15 foot and a 30 foot rail one after the other . but there is this little ice ledge you can tail press on its pretty cool
In order from the top:
A jump (med size)
Room to stop and chat with friends about the next hit
some rails and boxes, staggered so you can still train them but it's not too confusing (you can tell if someones gonna snake you)
Room to stop
2 Jumps (med)
Big jump
keep in mind this is the east and we barely have rrom for all this
i think the beginner park should be farther away from the real park.. because all the little kids that go into the beginner parks just to air off the sides of jumps..well, if they found bigger jumps to do that too, that would be even more of a disaster. but other than that tho, i personally like changing it up a bit. Taking a run or two to get to a different park. It only sucks when your looking for someone.
our park is pretty awesome .. it starts with the titanic, then a 20 footer, wall ride, then it forks off in two parts.. one some small tables, stepdowns and some little ten footers.. the other with some big kickers some steet rails, flatdown, c box and a rollercoaster and some other stuff..
I just wish they would do the bare minimum and put everything in, and actually get the 8 cat hours per week that they were promised. But, I have our jump hill, and that is light years better anyway.
right now our park is just OK
at the top its a 3pack and then u ski down a bit, a step up sortof, then another table, then a hit into pow and then another one.
or just rail, then rainbow rail, then tree/hip/thing
last year it was so sick,
my perfect park would just be table after table after table in a long continuous flowy thing, w/ drops and stuff too :)
we have a flat box to flat down flat box, to a roller coaster whale tail to a whale tail box, to a butter box to your choiuce of a mailbox or a c box, to a flat down/Flat/Butter box thingy to 4 medium jumps to an up down to a 70 ft hip to a rainbow box to medium table to battleship butter box to a flat down single bar or a down rail/box urban set up to a down flat down box or rail to flat up flat to another urban down.
right now we have a seperate rail park but thats cuz they still havent made one but we got 4 snow blowers going full tilt 24 hours a day for the past 4-5 days, acouple more days then thill make the jumps and have the rails after the jumps:)
ten tables in a row, not rails whatsoever. Each one 40-50 ft. Perfectly calculated trajectory in the lip design and table spacing, groomed nightly. aaaaaaaaah jumps...
