well because of the weather on the EC my first day was today, park at local hill (louis) had like 14 rails up and 1 20' jump. Heres a little background ive been skiing for 14 years but i only got twintips this year (fs wrs) all the years before i was too pussy to try anything. Well, first day i was expecting to just maybe grind one rail asi haven't done this in my whole life ever i did a small 8' rail and only the first time i fall very lgihtly then i do it very good like 20+ times, after that i moved onto everything, 1 down 14' rail a bunch of times and landed it a couple times switch, i did a 20' flat rail but fell of at the end the first time did it like 5-6 times and made it three times, they only had one jump but i did a switch 180, lol i did everything in the park except the upflatdown box and the s rail (park is still prty small cus of conditions).
i am pretty happy with what i did on just the FIRST day, uhm i have just a couple questions, i wasn't Very consistent when gogin onto rails, is there any tips to landing like perfectly perpendicular on the rail because i found i was of axis alot of times and uhhh boxes i didn't try because i'm afraid of the end where the rail part of box wraps around topsheet, what do u do there?, and although i did land switch a couple times on the smaller features i tried alot of times and landed close to backwards but not quite, how do u pop of a rail properly??? do u even pop? and do u just turn ur head for rotation?
THNX EVERYONE!!!

On my first day skiing ever I fell down a couple times but then I started doing backflips and switch 1440's. By the end of the day I could do a jump where I did a 1080, and while in the air I took my skis off and put them back on opposite feet. A week later I won the X games. Is this normal??

landing on the rail perfect takes practice, it becomes natural to take off at a certain angle of your liking... just keep goin at it.

at the end of a box, dont even worry about it...if its a really sketchy box just hop a little otherwise you can just slide off, unless you want to 270 then your going to have to bend your knees an pop a little.

Good first day. I started park this year and I've been skiing for 12 years. Still gotta find some easy rails to do but I like cliffs and stuff more so it's hard to pull myself away and get in the park.

thats how it was for me on my 1st park day. this is also my 1st year in da park but ive been out 13 times. i found it really easy to do rails the first day trying them. i started on a flat box then a rail, then up-flat, and a 30' flat. i just find rails easier than airs. i cant even 360 yet but can almost 270 off-wierd stuff

My first day trying boxes = got owned every time
2nd day trying boxes = 1 or 2 clean hits, then I got owned
1st day on rails = got owned
everyday since then = owned

weird. you'd think boxes would be easier cuz they're wider

rails aren't that hard to learn, it's when you start doing kinks (not mellow pussy ones, but ones where you actually have to shift your weight) that you're going to encounter some problems.
