I know there may have already been a post or two on this, and that Dave posted his own letter, but I wanted to scan them in for people to read. Hope everything's big enough. If not, check out the February issue of Powder Magazine, on page 76.

it really is a shame that they didn't include it, but like the other guy said, at least they acknowledged their mistake. 

was he skiing for the comp or something when he died? what exactly happened?

jea, definatly. I got mine a few days ago, and was reading those and was glad that they at least posted all the letters to show that they fucked up a little. Posting the letters and admitting the mistake at least showed that they cared a bit
