Does anyone fall forward on rails? I never see people fall head first, but last week I was hitting a rail and my front ski cought an edge and threw me head first. I hurt my shoulder pretty bad, so I wanted some advice on how to prevent that. And I can't just lean back other wise I will slip out. Anyone know what I'm saying?
put a really big base bevel on your edge. usually skis will be somewhere around 1degree, if you do it by hand go to like, 4degrees, itll give you more room to screw up before you go on edge, and youll be able to slide over bigger bumps in the rail
ya keep your front ski on the back edge, it only will happen if youre on a sticky box, or there is a burr in the rail.
just appy pressure to the inside of your front foot. its all hotness and sparks from there.
yea i just did that last night. not really sure how it happened. i was lucky i was going fast enough so i feel on the landing instead of the rail. still fucked up my neck though
naturally ur front ski is tilted up a bit but make sure to put an effort in not letting the front edge of the leading ski on the rail...thats my technique
Yup, that happened to me last night on a box, but only because I hit it switch at a reeeeally bad angle and it had a rutted takeoff. What I normally do is have my stance wider on rails and turn my ski so that I rail on the inside edge.
