Marriage

I didn't read the whole gay marriage thread debate but it lead me to another thought..

I've seen some pretty nasty divorces, those of which are mostly started from money issues. I'm going to generalize here and say that during a divorce, women fight to keep as much money as possible and end up tearing the men down.. from what I've seen.

I don't think I'd ever want to get married just for that fact. Marriage is just a legal thing and if you love someone enough I don't think marriage is what should keep you together. Your love should, pure and simple.

A couple could have a ceremony of togetherness to celebrate their love rather than signing papers. A nice mock honeymoon, maybe give eachother wedding rings. Signing the papers is what really messes everyone up.

Just a thought..

Ha, I'm completely sure that you have no idea what you're talking about. I could have my dad email me photos of the breeding grounds of the birds. You'd be surprised at how much water is involved. By the way, there already IS drilling in Alaska, which is the reason why towns like Prudhoe Bay exist. There's a 799-mile-long pipeline that runs from there to Valdez and pumps millions of gallons of oil. Just to let you know. I'm the last person on here who you need to be schooling up on drilling in AK.

Considering I drive a car that gets 45mpg, no, I don't complain about gas prices. I also own a very large truck that gets 8-10mpg, but I realize how much gas it guzzles and that it's my own decision to drive a vehicle that drains my pocket. That's one reason why it's been parked and hardly driven 1000 miles away since April.

Seasonal homes, actually... where the future of their populations is at stake. Their breeding grounds.

And yes, this is one of the primary elements of my dad's job - acting as a voice for the birds.

this is a bit off topic, but since the thread is diverting anyway, I'll point out that Bush created the biggest wildlife reserve in the history of the US -bigger than all the other wildlife reserves in the country combined.

people have married eachother in whatever way for all of humanity. its human nature, and obligates you to remain loyal to your partner for the rest of your life. plus it gives you some nice tax breaks
