Video Editing Question(Same peerson same scene?)

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knew how to edit the same person into the same scene. For example, you set up your camera, and then you film actor A. Then you film actor A again without moving the camera but making him a differant character.

I just magnetic lassoed them in. I couldn't figure out how to overlay them and have them come in clear.

what editing program are you using/have available, cause that changes the possiblilities if you have say aftereffects...

currently, imovieHD.

but i say any prgram becasue i will either download it with a torrent or use final cut pro at school.


and shadow, i understand what you are saying. thats what i thought i could do(pretty much the same thing as with photos).

no he has a point. Unless you have an obscenely expensive green screening setup, this includes studio lighting and knowledge of motion tracking and a manual cam, green screening would look horrible.

the best thing to do is garbage matte it. I have garbage matted 3 skaters in one shot, and they all overlapped each other too, just keyframe every 1 or 2 frames and you're golden. Its really fucking tedious though, so make sure you are a shut in or asain or something.
