My two cousins were cleaning out an old shed of my grandpas, and they were tossing around this metal container because well... they were cleaning the place out. Anyways, they eventually opened up the container and there was five sticks of dynamite. My cousins were scared shit-less, and we eventually got rid of it. When we told our grandpa about it, he said he thought he got rid of all of it. Turns out he used to use it for blasting rock before it became illegal to do, and also to get rid of gophers in the field... awesome I know.
Oh man, one time I was riding my fourwheeler out in this sand pit that had a huge gravel hill next to it. They had started to blast it, but the state shut them down so they had to leave. Well in their departure, they left 5 sticks of dynamite that hadn't been used. Needless to say, a curious 14 year old saw felt like he had just found the Hope Diamond. I wasn't completely stupid about it, I did a little research. How far away you had to be, how to check if it was still stable, etc.
Well we lit it and threw it off a cliff...probably some of the coolest shit I have ever seen. I think I still have a stick to this day.
my dad has his blasting lisence in colorado and oregon, in the summer we do a father son thing and go blow up peoples stumps that they cant dig out for them. its pretty bad ass.
