mine are holding up nicely. ive ridden them probably 30 times and there are minor cuts in the sidewalls. none to the core yet. and the bases are strong as fuck. i think the topsheet is the only problem with them.
i have t halls and have had em for almost 2 seasons. i beat the shit out of em. the only thing is the topcoat chips but nothing has happend to em. they are sick skis bro
my 04/05 AR5s(orange/blue) died pretty bad. on all 4 corners of both skis the edges began to rip out, pretty bad. the worst one went like 10 inches. just from skiing on them. although i had them like almost 2 seasons. my 07 thalls i have right now are holding up great, but they are still new, so we will see.
ive had three pairs of armadas, and i think they kick so much fuckin ass in every possible way.
right from the start they had it dialed. no joke.
mine are still good after many days, many days indeed.
topsheets chip, bases get fucked, edges break, its universal for every ski out there.
But real man, I cant say enough good about em.
I have a pair of 03/04 AR5's that I bought off of someone here, they have taken a great beating throughout their life and are in great shape except for some chipping on the topsheets.
i ride the 05-06 AR5's and like everybody else said, the top shit chips easily but i ride the shit out of them. other than that they are sound as hell, especially riding switch.
My AR5s are 1 year old and they are completely falling apart.
Yeah the top sheet chips, it looks like its 10 years old!!!! The edges are coming out in several places, the base underfoot is completely delaminating... fuck... they've become completely unskiable.
They're a sick ski but no way as solid as for example Rossignol.
Armada makes the sickest skis ever. People just see a little piece of the topsheet chip off and freak out and exaggerate it and say they are delamming or something. Its only cosmetic, and is no more than any K2 ski. From now on Im only riding Armada....or Surface.
yea armada are solid skis.. i mean the top sheet will chip on yer inside but its sidewalland if you do that to any salomon/k2/rossi ski it will be the same.. all mine are small chips on my ar6's but a buddy of mine did a core shot chip on his dumonts and my other friend got a big chucnk on his spk topsheet.
at any rate armada's kick ass, tight bases, ski flex, general riding, and of course ( cause ns deems it most important ; ) ) dope graphics
I've got the ar6s and they're the shit. Soooo solid, i don't have any chipping problems yet either, then again i'm in the east and we have no real skiing anyways
I can't understand how Tanner Hall (yeah that's right, I'm not lazy enough to write t-hall... or fuck that, I don't even think people writing that are lazy, they're just ballaz) only used one pair of AR5's in his first season with armada. Anyway that's the rumor
they're sick skis, ar5 is one of the best park skis ever put out, but half a year and my edges have major damage and its just from normal use. On the tip both parts of the edge are ripping out and starting to stick up(same thing happened to my old ones). I have major edge cracks but they have held for a while.
armadas are definitely really sick boards, however they were invented by pros like t. hall who get a new pair every day- not the most durable... but still pretty burly- ar6 holds up really well and is especially a great ski- t.hall pro models dont hold up as well but are light and great for park- peace
JPs and ARGs are amazing and going strong. JPs have one small topsheet but thats it and their bases are amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to buy Armada again.
ive got AR6, and ive ridden them 20+ times this year, and already i like them more than lines or salomons. other that the topsheet, they are strong skis
