Public, private, or boarding school?

whats ur preference. ive always wanted to go to public school but my parents are nazis about getting a good education. i liked my private school but had a fallout and now im at boarding school and it seems chill, but it feels like im missing out on highschool. if you could be anywhere where would you be?

private school. ranks in the top 10 most expensive schools in my city. melbourne.
but i went to a public primary school. i really wasnt that upset at being put in a different school to all my primary buddies. they all went to the local public.. which looking back at it now.. it is a fair bit suss...

i went to a private school for my soph, jr, and sr year of hs and while i was going through it i hated it, like for the first year and a half i was basically miserable. but then it got to be really good. yeah, i did a shitton of work my sr year but then i also had plans to go to a university. i know that if i had not been able to develop my work ethic then i would not have done as well in the first semester of school as i did. i certainly got my share of partying because i stil hung out with all my pub school homies but i had the reputation of my highschool behind me when i applied to college. so that was realy nice.

i love boarding school i ski 5 days a week and my fall sport is climbing and biking its the best experience living with your buds, and its a coed school so its chill. and when i go home i party with my buddies there

i go to a private school with about 100 kids in the entire high school, its nice knowing everybody, i guess we're just one big happy family
and my schools real smart too, my class has an average gpa of 3.74

at a private school they just try and cover everything up though, its quite entertaining. the whole school ends up knowing anyway, and so does the media, and then the principal gets to speak to the newspapers and explain why he isnt going to expel a girl of age 15 that had sex with a tour guide, went out and got drunk and stoned whilst on a trip to fiji.
money involved...put it that way....lots of money...

i kinda miss the bigger world of even private school. like being able to just decide to go downtown after school in the middle of san fransisco and being able to chil with kids from a ton of different schools on weekends. boarding school is kinda a smaller life. but it is better in alot of ways also

I moved to another much higher pace more focused on education Public HS that is real strict with people and making them stay in line, no open campus etc. and one of the most clique-y est places ever, people have had like the same friendships since grammar school, and it's hard to cross friend lines, Im tight with two groups of kids here but the groups arent tight with eachother... puts me in an awkward posistion.
I dont know where I would be happy, I dont know how cut out I am for HS, the parties can be fun, but they get repatative, and the alternative is sitting at someones house getting stoned and watching TV, and most of the time its boring.
I Much rather be out Skiing, Skating, or Hangining out in the City doing something, However living in a City with ZERO night life it gets kind of lame.
I think I'd be happy at Another HS, Public but in a Different Cit, somewhere different then Milwaukee

Public, if i had to go to some prep, private school, i'd probably just run to the mountains(like a multi-day run).
My high school is way more fun than fancy shirts and ties everyday.

ive been in public schools all my life and im in such a small town they are so boring. i wish i had gone to a private or boarding schools, i think i would have learned more and met people from other places, it really does get boring being with the same kids for like 12 years...

If you go to a Boarding school say bye to your private life... Im in one and it sucks, plus, doing the IB program which really is a pain in the ass, and moreover with a bunch of people who think are gonna save the world..now try to deal with that..
the only good thing is im on scholarship...

most private schools are funded by a church and so have some religion influence.
some are worse than others though.
like mine at assembly (every 2 weeks) the lords prayer is read, and we have chapel about....4 times a year? and for 3 years you do RE for 40 min a week. more like "life and careers with biblical influence" but still.
some are wayyy more into it.

I went to public until I was 7.
Then I went off to a Ukrainian Catholic Private School until , gr.8.
Now I got to an all girls Cathoic School. It's not horrible,has it's advantages, and the level of education you recieve is above average than the public system where I live. I'd definately be up to experience some public school life though, or a boarding school for sure. Boarding school just sounds awesome. But if you've ever seen Saved By the Bell (90's tv show), I always wanted to experience a little public school that way.

i go private, but it isnt like a fancy private school. Its kind of welfare, we have 10 year old football pads we still use, and we dont need to wear shirt and tie, we just have dress guide lines

i graduated from public school. then i did a post grad year at a boarding school. its not that bad. its alot better than public school disciplinary wise. i think i kinda like it.

Private, Catholic, all-girls, international boarding school. Santa Catalina may your spirit last forever! I miss Sister Clare.
I would, however, reccomend that you NEVER, EVER send your daughters to a girls boarding school. I was well prepared for college and was turned into a very strong, independant young woman, but I really hated six years of my life.

my school has the ib program too. only 10 schools in melbourne have it, its quite small in australia. i like it so much, its awesome.
im doing my final exams in november, then im free for a few months, then into uni to do physio. well hopefully.

I've gone to both, and I'm currently in a public. I like the public better. You meet a lot of more different people and I can still get a really good education at my school.

ugh that kind of sucks...
haha, there's a private school near my house called "Our Lady of Sorrows" after the church next door and it's painted like dark blue... it seems rather depressing for kids to go to. I feel sorry for the kids who have to say "oh I go to our lady of sorrows school"
