Word on the street is running cheap vodka through a brita filter will make it better quality vodka because the charcoal in teh filter will help sift out impurities. Anybody every tried? True or false?
Yhae true I saw that, and filtering it 10 times would take you way too much time to make it worth it. Plus they said It didn't equall the good quality one.
one thing i noticed is that if it is really really chilled, even the cheap stuff tastes almost like water. when im drinking a cheap handle of vodka with my firends we usually dont both chilling it and thats why it tastes so bad. I think im going to start chilling it now.
I have tried the britta filter thing. It works ok with one filtering. I should try more.
I don't actually think that would work.. I mean, if it were that simple it definately wouldn't take the companies much to run their vodka through a filter to increase the price a bit. Know what I mean?
ya thats exactly wat I was thinking, but maybe the companies keep it cheap because they know that they may sell more cheap ones and make more money, than they would if they had good quality expensive ones
I wouldn't bother, a guy who owns a major high quality vodka company did it on myth busters and even after 20 filters he still couldn't tell which one was triple distilled and which one was the filtered piece o shit.
You can set up a distilling apparatus too and you can help to purify it. My o chem TA last semester used to make Vlad into absolut quality. But making quality vodka beings in the initial process of creating the alcohol.
It can be. A lot of European vodkas are made with either potatoes or other grains. Domestic vodkas are usually made with corn. But vodka can be produced with any high starch content fruit/vegetable.
The cost of the filtration device needed to filter the vodka greatly outweighs the benifits. Basically, you are saving money by buying good stuff over the filters.
wanna increase the amount of alcohol in your liquer? just take your favorite liquer and mix it with some sugary juice (pineapple is best) and leave the mix in a warm place for a good 4-5 days. Add some ice and drink, it will be way potent yet not old enough to taste like complete shit.
Are you serious? First of all, the reason the drink becomes more potent is because the SUGAR is FERMENTING which means the sugar from the juice is turing into alcohol, which will leave little to no sugar left in the drink in the first place. And secondley, even if there was a sugar alcohol mix how would that make you throw up? Have you ever heard of twisted tea? or perhaps rum and coke? or make even redbull and vodka? Have you ever thought about what one of the main ingredients in these drinks are? SUGAR you stupid fucking barbie.
