I'd check out the Panasonic GS-500 personally. Its a really underestimated camera. The GL1 is getting a little old ad there are definetly better options out there for the money.
yeahh.. it all depends on the condition of the camera and the price... gl1s are still sick even if they're old... the quality is still 10 times better then most video cameras... but if u have the money... do spend it on a gl2... i did.. and i've never regret my decision...
yes. we have one and produce identical shots to a gl2 or sony. the main difference in gl1 and gl2 is the size, they narrowed it down and made it more ergonomic. if you know how to adjust your settings, the sky is the limit.

go for the GL1 for sure, its a dope camera, way cheeper then the GL2 too, quality is good to start with but if you learn about the camera and stuff you can get some real good stuff
