IF YOU CANT HIT THE FUCKING FEATURES STAY OUT OF THE FUCKING PARK! go learn in the kiddy park then move up, but dont just cruise through the park and jup off the side of rail takeoffs just so you can tell your friends you rode the park. (i am sure that i never did this and when i went in the "big" park that i could hit at least three of the features)
^^ ha at copper this weekend while a comp was on the good jumps me and my friend would gaper slalom on the mini jumps off to the side, it was sicku can like jump over them and shit
I was doing jumps in the park last weekend (medium-bigger ones). Anyway I was kinda with these 2 kids (both boarders, both suck) and the really bad one goes up to the second biggest jump in the park and I'm like hmmm this will be good. so he gets to the top (barely) and just essentially falls off. I was laughing so much and all these other kids at the top were mnaking fun of that kid for a while. I then it a slightly smaller jump and overshot it and my ankles didn't like that much. then at the bottom the kid was like did you guys see y huge air, I just turned away and laughed. I figure it's better to nail slightly smaller stuff than ruin bigger shit for the people that really appreciate it.
so would it be considered bitch if i were to just pop 3's off of the lip to a 4ft box?(its in our park for somereason, the real park inst open yet) cause im not gonna try to slide the box or anything and its annoying to jump over it.
That's fine imo. As long as your at least going to do something its alright. I do 180's off shit like that. It's mostly just the douche kids that try to hit the biggest stuff and barely make it up the jump.
everytime a gaper is about to go off the side of the lip I scream in their face as loud as I can ITS NOT A MOTHERFUCKING JUMP it seems to work cause I dont see them come through again
i agree that people who are shitty on the big features in the park like me shouldnt get to piss off all the people with skills. i used to do that when i was like 12... sorry to anyone i ever pissed off haha
anyways yea im starting in the little kids park, ill just have to ignore the 8 year olds that could rape me on skis.
at mount snow last week these gay ass kids who were like 10 years old were being total assholes to me and i yelled back at them and all i wanetd i the world is to just kick them in the face but i would look like such a fucking idiot being big and kicking a little kid so now i train my little brother whos 8 who actully can fight really good and could kick any kids ass his size if not most kids that are mostly his size and i train him so next time little kids and being gay i can just snap my fingers and hell beat the shit out of them
I saw a gape guy go off a jump in freeway, didn't have any speed and just exploded on the deck. both skis, poles, hat, goggles everything just went flying all over the place. so funny, he was fine.
its especially dangerous when they cut around the jump and go to the bottom of the landing because once you land you rarely have enough time to stop or avoid them
first the park pass solves everything in the spot park at 7 springs. second, gapers need to understand that if they ski around the lip of a jump and fall on the landing or if they ski up to the lip and just stand there, THEY NEED TO GET MOVED and that they are in a very good place to get hurt
my problem: ski racers roping off a course right above the park and funneling gapers into the park, wher they promptly sit on the fucking rails!! what the hell gives racers the authority to rope off an entire course and send 100's of gapers into the park? that weekend i was filming for my friend and most of the shots are of him being cut off, and the person who cuts him off either skis past the feature, or clibs up the jump and over the lip. its the most annoying thing i've ever had to deal with
Yea at smuggs the trail leading to the upper parking lot goes straight accrose the park= GAY Morning and afternoon filled with people going the opposite way you are. I hope im not considerd a gaper by anyone since I see how much it isses people off....I can do rails..kinked and C boxes, Ive landed a few 3's and I can clear most jumps nicely with an easy grab thrown in...So I do my best to stay out of the way of kids throwing down crazy stuff. I know a lot of people would call me a gaper..but the kids park isnt challenging any more and I need something to practice on. And the worst feeling is watching a kid half as old as you throwing stuff twice as good.
FUCK I HATE the little racer kids who fucking bomb the park and cut you off and shit when your going of of jumps and shit. the other day im fuking go hit a jump and theres this snowblader talking to his two gay freinds right in the landing(not hurt just chillin) so i land it smash right in to him and hes crying and shit and his freinds are bitching a me to watch where im going i jst said fuck you and shit. and these stupid racer poles were throwin there poles of the chair lift tryin to hit people and this kid pegs me and they all start laughing so i grab the pole and chuck it in to the woods and then he tells the ski patrol on me im like wtf. I didnt get in any shit though or hav to pay or get his pole.
Whenever some little shit (or big shit for that matter) i yell at them to get the fuck outta my way, none of them question me because i have the speed and skill to hit the feature, unlike them. they usually realise they weren't planning to do anything off it anyways. if someone questions me i will explain that landings are there for a reason, same with rails... to use them!!! not to come up wayyyy short of them, or pretend to use them, they surve a purpose
haha i wanna ski with you so bad. with all the things ive read on ns with all ur stories n things you do, i think itd be the best ski day ever.
the worst is wen the instructors take their little kids in. i tihnk im gonna start yelling at kids a lot too. n just telling the parents not to bring their kids in again.
i remember someone saying this in a thread "hey, theres 6 year olds going off the side of lips for rails and falling on their ass, but there having more fun than you"
so basically who cares, there having fun just give them some room and make sure there not around when ur about to hit a feature..i understand if they cut u off and stuff but just tell them politely to not get in the way
I yell at gapers all the time at mount snow, but sometimes I get a response back. Something like "You think the whole mountain is yours?" or some shit like that. Kinda hypocritical if you ask me, because everyone knows if a bunch of park skiiers went on some green circle run and skied the whole thing switch, or pulled little 1's off of tiny lips or anything, they'd all be complaining.
i understand that its fun and people need to progress. But when I call drop and start going and some little kid comes out of nowhere and gets stuck on the jump face, climbs up it and then falls on the deck. THAT ISH IS UNFORGIVABLE! Plus it usually means either a wasted drop or a case which hurts my shins.
thats all they do tho
and this one time these two total tourist types had their lil kid go on one of the kiddies jumps on a pow day (our kiddie jumpsa get dug out first you see,) and she makes it half way up and falls and then sits their for 15 mins so i went by them and just threw a 180off the side of the jump liie carve up the side you nko wat i mean right? and she fuckin hit me wiht her pole it was the most gaperized thing ever
I like the idea, sorta, but harshly stated. Shitty people should be allowed to ski in the park, on the condition they try. I suck. Nobody has a problem with me in the park because when I hit something I hit it the way it was intended or keep my ass off it. If your not hitting it the ways its supposed to be hit, get the fuck out. Its the same with your park rat comment, let em go up there if they are educated enough not to get killed, have the right equipment, etc.
At our hill we have a bell to ring if you get our 80 foot rail. On weekends the gaper racer kids ring it for shits and giggles. I've never yelled fuck you so loud or so often in my life, but if they hear you the get the idea.
Yeah, the eagle jib park at copper is completely dominated by gapers. Whenever im up there screwin around theres always a ton of gapers going straight over the picnic table and jumping off the C box ramp. That ramp is so screwed up now, the whole thing slopes to the right. The park guys have given up trying to shape that thing...its gets destroyed so fast. Even the rails on the big line at copper are messed up by kids completely ignoring the feature and getting 3 feet of air.
The other day I got cut off going into the first of the big kickers by some dad that had absolutely no business being there at all. If you still have to do a wedge christie, get the hell out of the park.
I'm an instructor at copper...and theres no way I'm going to bring my level 4 to 6 skiiers into the park, any instructor that does should gtfo.
if we break a rule or dont ride without a pass on a trail other than the park they pull are pass or you get in some kind of trouble, if someone doesnt follows the rules of the park; goes trough it without a park pass, ruins the jumps, makes it unsafe for us going off the jumps by sitting below nothing happends to them.
There's nothing wrong with ski instructors teaching kids to ride halfpipe or other features. We all had to learn once, it's fun for the kids, and it's good they learn it from a professional.
What is NOT cool however is how each and EVERY ski teacher teaches the kids to CARVE in the pipe and the fucking ski teacher doesnt have a clue how to ride a halfpipe at all.
Agreed, but how will kids learn if there aren't many small jumps for them to try? A great way for them to learn is to watch the better kids out there. They'll never get anywhere if they can't go to the park and learn. Seriously, who wants their first jumpt to be an 80 footer?
