learn to cork your 3s, then push it into a 5. then instead of relaxing off the lip to set your cork, pop hard and use your upper body to set your spin. cork spins are easy to throw and easy to land, you have to try to spin flat and you will miss landing on your feet at least once.

The way I found best to do flat 5 was to think about it like this:
Hit a Kicky Jump with a soft landing first, note how the kicker will kinda set you back. You want your back to be almost parallel to the ground like you'd go for a cork, but instead of spinning set almost a lincoln but with your back facing the ground still. It will make you rotate for flatspin, now go for a critical grab while you're doing it and turn your head to the way you're spinning. You should have lots of time to get your landing right.

flats? well, they are essentially off axis backs taken into a spin. hit a hip or something poppy on edge, and drop a shoulder as you throw a rodeo/backflip. you should be set into a sideways rotation, and after about 360, youll naturally pull yourself outa flat and correct. they are FUN
