Reporters tend to exaggerate...
There was a prof at my University that would splash liquid nitrogen on the front row students. Naturally they'd all freak out, but even before the liquid nitrogen touches the students, it would evaporate.

DO NOT throw a dry ice bomb into someone's room. you could easily 1) be arrested for it 2) seriously injure the person 3) have a criminal record fo the rest of your life/go to jail
dont fuck around with these bombs, they can do SERIOUS damage.

not too dangerous. theyre only as dangerous as what you put them in. ive had one blow up in my face before, i was fine. but if you put it in glass, then dont go near it. otherwise id say that theyre pretty fun.
i used to blow up snowmen all the time at my old school with them. just if your going to be within 10 feet of it when it explodes, wear eye protection.
use gloves when you handle the dry ice. the bombs usually take 10-30 mins to explode so be pacient and have fun.

uhmm, no. I'm sorry but you are wrong. We definately played with a bunch at the end of my senior year after APs outside, and I held it for probably aroun3 second before it got scary cold, but I didn't burn myself. We threw it around like hot potatoe with teacher supervision, that was fun. Then he allowed us to make a bomb out of 2 pop bottles, one with not too much dry ice and water. It didn't blow up, just ripped the side. And the second much more powerful, threw the bottle up 15 feet into the air and made a noise similar to a shotgun, the principles ran out, and everyone laughed. The whole school was talking about 5th period Calc BC's shindig for a while.
But if you're going to make one, don't overload cuase they can be really dangerous.
