Well, today there was a rail jam, and my bro was in it. He's only 15 and he was in the 18 and over category.
He was forced into it because the local shop sponsoring the comp, said he was on a "snowboard team." First off, he isn't on a snowboard team, he's in the process of trying out for canada games. And secondly, they only said, ahead of time, that sponsored riders had to go in the 18 and above category.
This shop, is owned by a family, it's new this year. But this one kid who's part of the family (we'll call him joe), is my bros age and was competing against him. And this kids older brother, was judging the competition with his friends.
Now this one kid my brothers age(joe) is basically jealous and can't accept the fact my brother isn't a pussy and better then him. The kid just sticks to rails and won't go anywhere near a table.
Also, "joe" has a group of friends who follow him around. These kids were also in the comp. So as you can see, there's lots of connections going on in this stupid comp.
But anyways, I'll get to it. My bro ended up making it to the finals along with 6 other guys. In the previous heat to the finals, he did his 270 back boards and switch 270 front boards. Then he did a switch or cab 450 back board. Then directly after that he stomped a smooth ass cab 450 backboard 270 out.
Now if you know a tiny bit about snowboarding, you should know that's pretty damn sick. No one else in the comp did a 450 on, nevermind a switch 450 on. And it was clean.
So in finals, it took him 3 out of 6 attempts at the rail to land his cab 450 back board 270 out. It was fairly clean, but not as clean as in the previous heat. It was still clean though, just not perfect clean.
Now because it took him half his attempts to land it again, the other guys landed a few more variations of stuff then him. So he basically wasn't expecting to place. But it was freaking obvious he was going to get best trick, and that's what he wanted.
Well, APPARENTLY a nollie back tail is better then a switch 450 back board 270 out. Pretty crazy huh? My bro got fucked over a jiped hard of winning some stuff. The kid that got the best trick ended up to be one of "joe's" friends.
But in the end my brothers pissed and everyone knows that that was definitely the craziest shit that went down.
Also, this wasnt the first time it's happened either, my brother got screwed over last year too in a big air comp cause "joe's" brother judged that one too.
Just thought I'd post this because it was one of the dumbest fucking things I've ever witnessed that some shitty little trick would get best trick and not what he did. This ever happen to anyone else? It's so damn frustrating.
