I bought the PX 12 SMU off SAC and planned on mounting myself to a pair of home-mades. Then I got to wondering if it was something the shop was supposed to take off when mounting. Anybody know?

no, I am not a retard. They are unlifted, I bought them with that in mind. It is just a small rubber thing that wraps around the back side of the heal peice, just behind the cup (thing you step on) of the heelpeice.

I'm not worried, just curious. I always want to know more about ski equipment, and at this point, petty crap like this seem to be the things that I don't know. I think it is supposed to be permanent b/c it wraps all the way around the hinges.
