Help resizing the LINE icons

Yeah i need someone to tell me how to resize the line icons from their site, using paint .... when i try, it cuts the pic out

1. copy and paste the icon into paint
2. click the re-sizing tool (top right)
3. resize it to 40 ( you can tell by the bottom right hand side of the program, it tells you your dimensions
4. move it to the top left hand corner and cut out everything else by click the bottom right hand corner of your paintable surface
5. save it and load it onto NS

you have to use that laso around the picture then make it smaller,
