Thats a stupid question cus it all depends on what you like to do and how important a specific aspect is to you.
Even if you say best all around mountain then it depends on how much weight a person puts on something.
I personally have skied Mammoth, Tahoe, Utah (never park city), and a few places in colorado and i can pick a place or two or three in each state that you can make a case for best mountain.
The only one i can say is the best park is the us is prob Mammoth, with Breck being a close second.
I say live in the quad ski area in Colorado and get the pass to A-basin, copper, breck, and keystone (am I right? or is it vail instead of keystone maybe?) anyway, breck and copper are both money, and A-basin is a nice kickback to old school mountain, so you get variety.
'Yeah, I'll get that cleaned up lickity-split. Speaking of lickity-split what do you say you and I meet up later, see what's going on? Just kidding. But seriously, I'm new in town, kinda lonely, looking for my parents..'
i ski in tahoe, and love it, went to copper early season and wasn't that impressed, but it was early season. been to mammoth, awsome park, but squaw is the best mountain i've been to
'one twelv rails' comming soon to a backyard near you
tahoe or mammoth lakes

colorado is a distant third to california and utah . . . mammoth/june has the best park, but tahoe has a ton more terrain and way more snow in most cases
_ski_bum_ has got it right, Jackson Hole is THE SHIT! That place fuckin owns, hands down. Copper is sick too...and for those that say Breck has amazing skiing, they do not. They have an amazing park...the rest is intermediate cruisers or windblown and icy bowls. Summit County is overrated- go to Jackson if you want real skiing.

Mammoth is probably the best park skiing in the US, but not for all mountain. I'd go with something else. Perhaps even Vail, since there's so much diversity.
i only ski sundayriver so i dont know but im going 2 breaken ridge next year i hear it is pretty sick
*young but sick!!!*
*ride line all the way*
*redsox suck*
*yankees rock*
Well of course you have, tahoe, mammoth, squaw, brekenridge, alta/snowbird, vail, tuckermans, jackson hole ect... but for EAST coast I would have to say depending on what you like sunday river, and/or mad river glen and castlerock peak @ sugarbush.
and BoardomGuitar you're so dumb if you think all mammoth has is park you have obviously never been there

Okay... we have tonns of votes for the park places... some for Jackson hole and Tahoe (sick places)... but Two for Alaska.
What the Fuck is with you guys, are you all retardeded? Valdez offers the best skiing in all of North America, you can build a park anywhere, you can't build big mountain.
why the fuck do people keep saying Vail? shit, its on a major interstate and its always always always incredibily busy. and i know that somebody already said that people put different emphasis on different factors, but Vail really doesnt have any good steeps and the Back Bowls arent consistently good. best skiing in the states?: Alta/Snowbird. Best all around mountain (that should be the real question)?: Mammoth.
The Cameron Crowe of the ski industry, just watch...
ya..def mammoth...no crowds during the week cuz its so far away from civilization
well to keep it real I started being a Poser Poser. I dress and act like a poser, but i'm not really a poser. I just pose to look like a poser posing. you know just keepin it underground

Oh, you guys are thinking best all around??? well then maybe some of the park mountains... Mammoth is actually really good All Around, but the 'Best Skiing in the USA' is found in ALASKA.
This is gay...whistler. who cares if it's not in the usa it still is number 1
