It's six days into 2007, you can't say it's on track to be the hottest year ever.

That's like getting 100% on the first test and saying "i'm on track to get 100%" in the class. By June or July, you might be able to say that...but certainly not now.

What if the next 259 days are well below average?

hhm, well all of this warming shit isnt effecting Alaska. i think our town has gotten like what...2 feet of snow within the week. something like 250 inches at our moutnain in the month of december. and its still coming down too. everyone move up north.

You're right, the climate doesn't start on Jan 1st...however climatology records do. That would disregard all trends of 2006, therefore equal chances prevail.

Now if you would have said, winter 06/07 to be hottest ever...I would have an argument...except for that winter officially starts on Dec. 22, so we are a little more than two weeks into "winter".

Bottom line, it's too early to tell.

Utah is picking up. Both Brighton and PC have sick parks right now, and it's dumping. We had like a 10 inch day yesterday, and it snowed all day today. And don't bitch to me, because I lived in INDIANA for the last 18 years of my life, and have been in Utah for about 4 months, so shut up.
