If you get them packaged as a gift it will cost you nothing, but I wouldn't be surprised to see $100 of tax if they overestimate the cost of the skis.

i don't think that includes singular consumer products.
in your case, ship air with USPS and have them mark it as warranty repair. customs won't charge you for that because they will think you already were charged the 14% when you first got them new. don't go fedex or ups because they will attach all their bullshit brokerage fees.

you can only mark items as a gift if they declare the value is under 50 dollars. i don't think you can insure them either. if i worked at the mail station and i saw a pair of skis marked as a gift id steal those out of spite. don't do that.

you piece of shit.
Ive sent skis over the border as gifts, otherwise the person receiving them would get slapped with a fucking insane duty, usually well over $100. Some people are strapped for cash you know?
If the shit gets lost, well then thats not good, because it cant be insured for much of anything.
but still, dont be a bitch

depends on how much it weighs.
Its a stupid thing i think.
considering it not being traded by a corporation to another.

Usually its anywhere from 15-20% of the value of the item. I've receieved dozens of items from the states and it's always around there unless you mark it as a gift.
It doesnt matter what it weighs, thats bullshit. And you CAN declare it as a gift if it's more than $50. I got a pair of Seth Pistols sent to me marked as a gift from colorado to ontatio and didn't have to pay any duty. Clearly a pair of almost new K2's with bindings is worth more than $50, but declaring it as a gift worked.

well i don't think they would put to much fuss on a pair of used skis. im talking about asking a shop to mark your new skis as a gift.

as long as they send it USPS the fees should be relatively low for you Sw_Steeze. UPS and Fedex seem to just totally rape you on that shit, but not usually USPS

You might want to delcare it under the "other" classification. I just put down used skis on the customs delcaration even though the skis I shipped were mint.
This was from Canada to the US mind you, so I'm not sure if it'll work going the other way.

just spoke with Jeff Proctor, from proctorjones.com
he told me he tried tos end it usps for me and they wouldnt even accept it they were so big and irregular of a size. So it has to go UPS and he also said that UPS usually charges 25$ fee (bullshit) plus gst pst on the sale price. in total i calculated it comes too 86 canadian or something. but there will be even more fucking BS additional fees on top of that i know there will be.
